What are the Grand Gatherings? Can a party of two be a Grand Gathering?

A Grand Gathering is a group of 8 or more (ages 3 and up) staying at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels.

I was able to get one off of a lanyard the last day I was there and I also got the Magical Fireworks Voyage off of a lanyard.

They are very big pins
