I'll need a couple extra blankets tonight. It keeps cutting off. It does normally come back on in 3 hours, but it gets tooo darn cold in that time.
I can flip the switch off and back on, but I will not stay up all night doing that.

Does anyone have some warm pixie dust around?

sorry, its so cold here right now I just cant get warm, 3 hours is along time with no heat, better call your husband

Jason, I decided to go ahead and call him when even that wasn't working. Now I have to fix it. At least he told me how, or how it's supposed to work. Now I just have to find the right tool. wish me luck

Why can't you keep warm?

Hope you get it resolved, Laurie. Stay warm, it is supposed to be cold again tonight.

It worked, it worked, it worked. It was the flame sensor, I finally got the darn thing off and put on the new one he had laying around, except that one didn't work on my furnance.
I cleaned the old one, and it worked. Did you know that emery boards are great for cleaning sensors?
LOL, we have heat! :sunny:

We had our OLD oil furnace replaced last year with two (now 2 zone) gas furnaces. Everything worked fine until that 0º cold snap last week. We had intermittent heat for 3 days! DH was furious. But, turns out it was a gas supply problem. Gas Co. had to dig up our yard and replace pipes. WHAT a mess - but at least we have heat again. We'll worry about the lawn in spring.

Listen to you... fixing furnaces... good for you.

My furnace went dead the other day as well, fortunately it was only a coupling and a valve.. could have been a lot worse!

LOL, Cindy, it's just regular maintenance on the thing, but he always did it before. And he is not one to explain things so someone else can do it. He'd rather just do it himself. But he was an hour away and didn't want to drive.
Now there's something else I don't have to rely on him for. yay

You go Laurie! I would never even think of doing something like that! The furnace scares me! ours is about 45 years old and workd great thank goodness. We also put in a gas fireplace thi syear too - so we have back up just in case LOL.
