Ooh, we're going back!!

Hi everybody,

We've decided to head back to Disneyland last week of September. Some of you may remember I lost my camera on our last day of our last trip!

So obviously, we need to go back and take more photos! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. (I had some beautiful ones of my girls dressed in their costumes with the characters)

The last one was a complete surprise for the girls, we didn't tell them until we were at the airport, but this time they know so they're having a say in the planning. My dad is also coming with us, so we'll be 3 adults, 2 kids.

We stayed in th Explorers last time, and it was great. Cheap and cheerful, and really was just a place to lay or heads at night. It would also do the trick this time BUT...

I've been looking at Davy Crockett and it looks likes so much fun. Swimming pool looks fab, and there's so much for the kids to do. Think my dad would love it too, as he'd like the counry music in the bar

When I try to price it on the Disney website, it's giving me a price for accomodation and park tickets. We have our INVALUABLE Dream annual passes from last year though. Would anyone know how I could price just the accomodation? And more importanly would you recommend Davy Crockett?? (I'm figuring last week of September weather will be OK, we might be able to eat outside a couple of nights?)

And last question for now, we're going to hire a car this year. It will be DP's first time driving on the continent. We have the chance to fly to Charles de Gaulle for 700 euros, or to Beauvais for 350. He's a fantastic driver, but is it a lot more complicated to go from Beauvais?

Any advice, as usual, greatly appreciated!

I think you can book room only via expedia, am not sure though.

We stayed at DCR at Christmas and really liked it but to be honest werent really there much to see it. We went swimming for an hour on our last day before we left and it was lovely- hardly anyone else in as everyone was in the parks but I have read on other peoples reports about it being really crowded in the evenings especially if the park has closed early.
Although we really liked it Im not sure if id stay there again or not- the pool was lovely, the cabin was lovely and snug but Im not sure if I liked the drive to and from the park everyday. Although it wasnt far it seemed too much hassle to us to nip back for an hour or so (We used to park at New York with dream passes). We were only there for a short stay so I think we'd have go more out of it if we'd been there for longer stay. Thwe main reason we stayed there was Mum was with us so it gave us a bit more space and privacy without having to just share one room or pay for 2. (Explorers wouldnt have been any good as Mum wouldnt have got EMH without an AP)

We also stayed at Explorers and Holiday Inn both of which we liked as well.

We always get the official brochure and that gives prices for DCR cabin only (no tickets)- not for other hotels though. We always book over phone then we can discuss the price with someone and negotiate discount for having AP -(always got a really good discount)

Well as you own AP Dreams - surely your best action would be to call the Disney UK Reservations - ensure you mention you want room-only as you've AP Dream.

They should a) be able to give you pricing, and b) you should get at least a 10% discount for having AP Dreams.

I'm assuming the AP Dreams are still valid and will be by the time you visit in September?.
