Anybody done both these parties and have experiences to share? We've gone to OBB once (last year) but have never been to the WDW party. Would be curious to know how you think they stack up and are they different enough to be worth a cross-country trip?

I’m done with these parties. We don’t eat the candy, the lines for anything special are long, and nothing really changes from year to year. I have done at least 7 MNSHP and 2 Oggie bogie (21&23). It’s not worth the hassle to get tickets and what you pay for,

Been to MNSSHP 4 times and OBB twice. I far prefer OBB for the interactive treat trails (there are no characters on the treat trails at MNSSHP!!!!) and Villians Grove. That said, the Boo to You Parade is my fave parade of all. Even thinking about the song makes me smile.

I wouldn’t make the trek to WDW just for MNSSHP. I think you would be disappointed other than the parade because it’s basically all meet and greets with loooooooong lines. Even as much as I love the parade I prefer Villians Grove - it’s just so unique. My sis who is a die hard MNSSHP person says she now prefers OBB.

Thanks for the info. Saw a video where the person said MNSSHP was way better than OBB, but looking at the website descriptions I couldn't see all that much difference. And like you I really enjoyed Villains Grove.

The main plus at MNSSHP (besides boo to you) are the Halloween fireworks, which obviously don’t happen at OBB. Once OBB has world of color back it’ll be no contest.

I posted this on another thread last week after our 9/26/23 OBB trip. We had fun and are glad we went, but won't bother again.

"We did MNSSHP last October and were at OBB last night. The MNSSHP was better by a factor of two, in our opinion.

OBB had no fireworks nor a Sanderson Sisters/Oogie Boogie/villians stage show as is done at the MNSSHP. Those Florida stage/fireworks shows were about an hour long in total and came between the two parade performances.

The two parades were comparable, we thought.

The treat trails were comparable, but seemed to be easier to locate at the MNSSHP than at OBB.

It may have been our imagination, but last night after the first OBB parade, it seemed there was an effort to squeeze out guests, as many restaurants and bars closed early, as did many attractions. It could have been this was anticipation of thinning crowds, however.

All this doesn't take in to consideration the superior Southern California climate vs that of South Florida, or any other factors like hotels, or the other qualities of DCA vs WDW MK

I would recommend the WDW/MNSSHP over the DCA/OBB without hesitation. This opinion is based upon a single visitation of both parties over the course of the past year."

Pre-pandemic there was a “Villianous World of Color”at OBB - I hope it comes back because that would be 😘
I’m curious why it didn’t come back. When we stayed at VGC in August, they were doing late night WoC testing and it wasn’t the usual show, and definitely seemed Halloween themed.

Hadn’t done the Halloween party in California since 2016 when still in Disneyland park. Did Oogie Boogie twice this year. Sept 17 (Sun) and Sept 28 (Thur). We also were in Florida after a DVC member cruise and went to Mickey’s Not So Scary for our first time this Sept 8 (Fri). The WDW party ranked supreme. Much better. Completely different experiences. Longer detailed parade, amazing firework show at castle, character meets weren’t part of treat trails. They had all seven dwarfs together to meet!! Party was more fun side of Halloween instead of dark and more evil theming. Oogie Boogie was still great in its own way. Tops for us there were Ernesto and Sid.
