Oogie Boogie/Missed Flight Question

We’re planning our first-ever trip for Oogie Boogie Bash (assuming we can get tickets, I know). We are flying in from out of state, which makes us nervous given the possibility of travel issues. We looked at arriving noon Thursday, the day of the party we were hoping for that evening.

So the question is—does anyone have experience with missing a party due to travel delays and successfully getting tickets for a different party? I know it would involve begging customer service, explaining the circumstances. Just curious if anyone has “been there, done that”?

What airport will you be flying into?

Even if someone was sprinkled with pixie dust, it doesn't mean that will happen to you. Why take the chance?

Flying into Long Beach.

The only reason we’re thinking about risking it is maximizing the trip—it’s no small expense to fly in, hotels, etc. So we are trying to pack in the most park time possible to make it worthwhile. We’re looking at a noon arrival on that Thursday.

I'd treat it like going on a cruise and always fly in the day before. Probably only a fraction of the time will it be a problem to fly the same day, but such a huge risk to spoil things if there are flight delays.

We recently did a trip to San Diego and the flight was supposed to arrive around 1pm. But the flight got cancelled due to some part that needed repair and the only backup flight we could find got us in at 11pm.

This. If your flight is canceled or delayed, you will most likely miss the party, not get a refund and not be able to buy tickets to another party (since they sell out well in advance).
Thanks, I think you’re right. It seems silly to pay for a park day when we (hopefully) have party tickets, but that’s the best way to make the most if it.

Fly in just one day earlier to be as curious as possible

Maybe get an inexpensive hotel for that first night before you transfer to wherever it is you have booked
