oo-de-lally oo-de-lally, golly what a year!... Pre-Trip Report

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!

Another "not particularly planned" part of our holiday is Dining. I know a lot of people have everything planned out with ADR's etc but we just didn't want to go down this route. Apart from not staying onsite we just don't know where we are going to want to eat when!

I have read up on DTD and CityWalk, all the dining options in the parks, and obviously the options we have on I-Drive. I do have a list of places we would like to try but it is by no means exhaustive - I just wanted to know which places appealed so we don't end up blinded by choice when we get there!

SO, here is my list of dining options so far:

Dining - Parks / Resorts:

Sharks U/W Grill @ SW
Rainforest Cafe @ AK
Mythos @ IOA
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co @ CityWalk
Latin Quarter @ CityWalk
House of Blues @ DTD
Planet Hollywood @ DTD
Mama Melrose @ MGM

Dining - I-Drive

Bahama Breeze
Sweet Tomatos
Fudruckers
Wild Jacks
Whistle Junction
The usual suspects in the Buffet dept - Golden Corral etc
Breakfasts @ Ponderosa / IHOP

We are also booked up for Dine with Shamu, will be going to Medieval Times, and will obviously be scoffing the food at DC as well!

I do have my heart set on the Sharks U/W Grill at SW and my OH is very keen on the idea of Rainforest Cafe, but otherwise we are open to suggestion and love most types of food so we will see where our stomachs lead us :)

Any suggestions??

  Two Days to go!!!!

and...

I might be a bit over-excited!!! Work is finished so we are officially in holiday mode :cool1:

We started our holiday on Friday at 3pm when we both managed to wrangle a 3pm early finish. We were going to take OH's dad out for dinner to say thankyou for looking after our moggies while we are away but he was not able to make it so the two of us went to the Carvery anyway and then shared a scrummy ice cream sundae with profiteroles, mandarins, hot chocolate sauce, and other gooey loveliness in it. YUM. We then obviously had to make a toast (or two) to the holiday so dived into a bottle of rose back at home. We were feeeeelin goooood about not having to go back to work till 04/10 :thumbsup2

Since then we have mainly been washing clothes, ironing clothes, and packing clothes. I had a short sado-masochistic interlude earlier when I epilated my legs but then it was back to the packing... which is at least mildly less painful than ripping hair out of your legs.

I procrastinate a lot about these things (packing that is, not the hair ripping) but I've got nothing on my OH who always gets sidetracked by tidying the cupboard or some other such mildly OCD related task :upsidedow
However, we are now pretty much done... I think.

Just waiting to leave for the airport tomorrow afternoon where we will be staying overnight at the Hilton.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGHHHHH... I can't wait anymore!!! wanttogonowwanttogonowwanttogonowwanttogonow!!!!

Forgot to say - I have also found out that US are holding one of their Halloween Horror Nights the last weekend we are there. We are going to try to add the Stay and Scream option to our flex tickets and go on our last evening which will be a sunday.

I love horror films so am really hoping we get to go. It will also be a novel way of finishing our first ever Florida Holiday! Wish us ticket luck...

Don't forget to do online check in tomorrow, there are only 8 single seats not allocated on the VS27.

We don't have a printer so cannot print the boarding passes. Aim to get to Gatwick for about 4pm and are going straight to twilight check in. We have "reserved" our seats already so was hoping this would work out. Should I be worried?

Youb don't need to print out the boarding pass, just go to twilight checkin or bag drop to collect them after checking in on line.
As the flight is full, you will get some moving of seats of people not yet checked in to accommodate families.
Just checkin online then collect your bording pass at 4pm.

Twilight checkin opens at noon, so you get two hours drop on people using twilight by checking in on line. :goodvibes

At the moment, seats in rows 22, 23 & 24 are available (the mini economy cabin next to the downstairs PE seats) These only become available at 24 hours out and go very quick. Try to checkin at 10:45

Good luck!

Took the ones we had pre-booked. Only 45mins till we leave for the airport now... does it get any less exciting the more times you go?? I should probably savour this "first time" feeling!
