Only one FP+ for a meet and greet?

I am trying to make FP+ selections for the MK. Since it will just be my DH & I and our toddler, for Space Mountain we only actually need 1 FP+ reservation since we can use rider swap for the other person. If we do it that way, if I make a reservation for the other one of us to meet Mickey Mouse, would the 3 of us be able to meet Mickey together, or not since one of us would not have a FP? Just trying to make the most of our time on a late arrival to the MK on our first night. If we both have FP+ for Space Mountain we could actually each ride it twice but I know we won't have time for that. We could do either BTMRR or Splash but we don't want to have to walk all over the park that night.

You each will need a Fp+ to meet Mickey.
