OK, so we've been having a great trip - up until our journey back to BCV this evening! We dined at Sanaa (outstanding, as always), and then went to wait for the bus to Epcot, figuring we'd grab some dessert at F&W on the way through to the international gates. Becky all of a sudden has to go the the bathroom VERY badly (she's almost 8, but has aspergers, so she's not quite as mature as she could be) - I rush her into the lobby and I have to interrupt a woman at the concierge to find out where the bathroom is....Becky made it by the skin of her teeth! (I apologized to the concierge after, but she totally understood).
OK, so it wasn't more than a 10 minute wait for the Epcot bus. We get off at Epcot and .....Becky desperately has to go to the bathroom again. She is just frantic - and all I can do is try to keep her moving toward the restroom. We finally get there, but she loses it just as she's getting into the stall. UGH!! Now, this hasn't happened with her in ages (except one incident in school), I was not prepared with anything! I am faced with having to walk the entire length of Epcot with my daughter all peed up - even her sneakers were wet!
Kristen - a very lovely girl who was working the ladies room, asked if she could help - I said thanks, but I didn't think so. She said "can I get you some fresh clothes?".....What?......Really?....I said "could you?" - She ot on her radio - but he person on the other line wasn't really understanding what she was asking for..so she went to take care of us....
it took quite a while - they had to locate some clean clothes that would fit Becky..Kristen came back to wait with us while someone else dug up clothes.
Becky had removed her peed up clothes and was naked from the waste down in a stall! Kristen gave her towels to stand on so her feet wouldn't be cold...then, when it was taking so long, she got a stool and lined it with towels for Becky to sit on. She gave me a plastic bag to put the wet clothes in.
Finally she went to meet the person who was searching for clothes and came back with disney crocs, sweatpants and panties! A little big for Becky, but it was close enough that she could get back to the room without them falling off.
I asked where I should go to pay for them...Kristen said "oh... no, you don't have to pay anything, I'm just sorry you had to wait so long".
Anyone know another park where this would happen? Disney (and Kristen) ROCK!

Wow, that's absolutely amazing. You should let Disney know about their emplyoee.

That was definitely way above and beyond! How awesome! You really should write guest services and let them know how incredible Kristen is. :goodvibes

That is one of the reasons why we return to Disney year after year, the CM's go way above and beyond - please make sure to write to Disney and tell them about your experience.

:santa:

Bless her heart, I know that was embarrassing for her but what a wonderful thing for the CM to do. It's those little things that make your day isn't it? What did Becky think?

Just another reason to add to my big lists of reasons why we find Disney to be the happiest place on earth.

I am so happy that she was there that night to help you and your daughter!!

That simply rocks!!! :thumbsup2. Thanks for sharing your story and I also hope it gave Becky something to smile about. :wizard:

Thanks for sharing your experience! As a mother of an Aspie, I understand completely about the restroom. Your story brought tears to my eyes from the compassion of the Disney CM.

My daughter also has aspergers and we have had a few close calls as well she totally waits until the last minute to tell us she has to go.

It is situations like this among a thousand of other little things that Disney does is all the more reason that we have already booked our 2011 fall trip.

Thanks for that heartwarming story. :flower3: I don't think you'd find that kind of service anywhere else...unless of course you were a big wig of some kind. :lmao: Hope it made Becky feel like the special princess she is! princess: Thanks for sharing!:)

Great to hear. It is nice that some folks do take care of you when you are in need. You are frazzled enough by an incident, that just makes it easier to deal with.

Thanks for sharing! I'm sure your daughter felt relieved that someone so nice was helping her.

Definitely write Disney and tell them!

I actually got the chills reading this story!!!

And people wonder why they have such a high repeat customer!!!!

reason i can tell our freinds and family WHY we go to disney every chance we get.
hope you had a great trip and we will be there in 10 days.:cool1:

My DS 12 has asbergers also, and waits until the last minute all the time. I tell him when dad goes, to go try, and that usually keeps accidents and emergencies at bay. It is a wonderful story, and I hope you let Disney know what a wonderful CM they have!

Last December, I took my Godson to the MVMCP - and right at the beginning, we had dinner at the Castle. I guess the lid on his milk wasn't on tight, because he spilled it on his jeans!

The waitress was very nice, brought towels (and more milk). And then the manager came out and wrote me out a voucher to get him a new pair of pants.

Unfortunately, I didn't find ANYTHING, and after about 5 stores I gave up - the pants were dry by then anyway, and we were missing out on the fun.

But it was still a very nice thing for them to do.
