Had a great trip to the World, but couldn't get back for 5 extra days (a cautionary tale for Amtrak users pirate:.)

Anyway, I really rely on reviews to gently guide me away from horrible meals, so it is only right that I share reviews from August 22-30th.

1st night: Kouzinna. I had read about "the whole fish" dish here, which had stellar reviews. It was yellowtail snapper cooked with olive oil, kalamata olives, lemon, bay leaf, and I don't know what else (though I requested a recipe, but no email so far)over wilted escarole. Whatever it was...it was magically delicious! My DD12 tasted it and said that if we returned SHE wanted it! She enjoyed her steak which was also simply and beautifully prepared. I know people often expect a lot from "Iron Chefs," but perfectly prepared simple food was what it was. The ambiance is humble as well. Kouzinna means kitchen, and the name fits. Crave that fish, I do!.......OH my goodness!!!...I forgot about the hot, sticky honey doughnuts laced with cinnamon, and served with raspberry and vanilla sauces: YUM! We could not eat them all (two orders,) but we REALLY tried!...If you know the Justin Bieber song, we were, in fact, singing "one more lonely doughnut," because it seemmed so wrong to leave them!

2nd night: Garden Grill. Menu is set. My daughter and I did not like the salad dressing at all (milky looking,) and we were looking for Mickey shaped cucumber, like in the greenhouse, but to no avail :confused3. The mashed potatos were amazing, beef nice, and turkey ok, but the fish was inedible....It seemed the platter spent too much time under a heat lamp, so fish was crusty, not in a good way, and the veggies beneath were so diced and dry that I could not even discern what vegetables they were. The cranberry sauce, which I am a fan of generally, had a toxic amount of cinnamon in it, so if you are allergic: run!

My DD had seconds on beef and mash....I think maybe if you request seconds, the food is fresher because they just bring you what you ask for. The dessert was not to my taste, but I still really enjoyed the meal!

The characters were so charming, and Dale got very silly doing sexy poses a la "Next Top Model," which had us cracking up! My daughter did not believe the restaurant rotated until I told her to find a "landmark" to vue, and see where you are in proximity later. I do not see the rotation being a hardship for motion sensitive people, but you do rotate. I am not sure if it is a must do, but it was so much more relaxing than Chef Mickey's...no clammoring, no napkin waving: cosy.

(I will add more later) :upsidedow

I love any fish I can get my mouth on.....yours sounds delish...thanks for taking the time to give us a little bit of delishish reviews..

(sorry for the time lag)

Now I'm a girl that does not need meat on my plate (as some do) in order to enjoy a meal....That said, O'hana is a "must do" for me and DD because we love Lipoa who runs the activities Tuesday through Saturday!

Anyway, on to the food! Set menu, as everyone probaby knows. I did tell the lady who seated us that we did not want to be rushed, (as last year I was feeling very sick by all the food so quickly shoved at us.) The pace was slowed down. Bread (that we don't eat) is first, followed by chicken wings and potstickers and salad. All descent, but wings were cold. Noodles were better than usual (I STILL long for the potatos :guilty:,) and then the meat came. I was fairly full this night and ate 1-2 pieces of steak and pork, and had about 5 shrimp. I never saw poultry, so I don't know if it was turkey or chicken, but whatever the case, I knew it was important to save room.

BTW, the dipping sauces were peanut, asian sweet sour, and mustardy...no more chimmichurri :sad2:.

Everything was cooked well, but again, it is atmosphere that makes it a must do for me: I loved the salad and shrimp, and my carnivorous DD enjoyed the meats. BUUUuuuuuuuut!...The bananas foster bread pudding with ice cream, as always, hit it out of the park!!!!!!! Just so good, and I hate bread pudding's consistency. If you don't like bread pudding, be open to at least TRYING this one!

(aside #2: although it is not mentioned as a choice, my DD and I ordered virgin Pina coladas and it did calculate as included in our bill using DDP.)

Doing this makes me hungry soooo...gotta go! :flower3:

I guess if I had to be stuck anywhere for five extra days WDW would be the best place. Pretty costly though!
