So my mother and I are doing a mother / daughter trip at the end of January to Disney World. It will be a VERY short weekend trip (1 day MK, 1 day Epcot). We fly out at 2:45 on Sunday. We are both HP fans and would love to see WWOHP, so our plan is to do it Sunday morning... be at park before opening (we'll be staying off site). Stay until noon (hopefully eat at 3 broomsticks) and leave to catch our flight. I have been to IOA several times, so really only going for the HP stuff.

Are we crazy for trying this with only a few hours available in the morning? :confused3 It is this, or not see it.

What time do you suggest off site guests get in line? 7:30am? 8:00 am? We want to do FJ of course, and see the stores. Not sure we care about Olivanders. Want to eat Brunch in 3 broomsticks. Can we pull it off?? Anyone have a good game plan for it?

I don't think you will have too much trouble. It will be crowded, but you should be able to do most of what you want in the 3 hours. Go to broomsticks early for lunch so you don't hit line. You may not get to everything if there are lines, but you should be able to do quite at bit at this time of year. Expensive though, unless you have APs and go a lot. Tip, get your butterbeer at 3 Broomsticks with lunch, or go to hogshead next door for it, if the carts have lines.

This is a good time of the year to go, especially on a Sunday. Personally, I'd be in line an hour before opening. Most people say to do ollivander's first but only if there is little wait time, then FJ, then an early lunch at three broomsticks followed by shopping, coasters or whatever you like.

Some Tips I've seen are

Avoid needing to use a locker, that will really slow you down - fanny pack only if needed. (If you must use a locker, go through Filch's to the locker area, I believe, to avoid the congestion.

If the line is considerable for FJ, consider single rider to get on much quicker (many time you'll end up riding together anyway). If you do this you can do the tour of the castle afterwards at your leisure.

Yes, avoid the carts for butterbeer. If there are lines, go inside instead.
