A friend (25) and I (30) stayed at POFQ from March 1st through March 9th, and enjoyed a festival of food on the DxDP. Unfortunately my friend ended up having to leave halfway through, leaving me with a plethora of extra credits. My brother came down the next two days so I was able to give him a couple, but that's the reason there may be way more food here than a person should reasonably try to eat. Due to image restraints this post will be broken into several. Also I'm a really crappy photography and these are just cellphone pics, so the pictures will be dark/blurry/bad.

March 1st Dinner: Cinderella's Royal Table
What an awesome location to have dinner on arrival day! The castle inside is beautiful, and as a party of 2 we scored a window seat, with a cool view of New Fantasyland (and the cranes taking down the lights...) The ambiance was awesome, the food was just okay and not nearly worth the money, however we did it for the location knowing this already, so it turned out well. I won't be posting many restaurant pictures, but since this one is more about itself than the food...

Inside the Castle:

Our own little window:

The bread was unmemorable, I had taken notes but unfortunately they were all on a phone that has since been lost, so I will be missing my precise thoughts. Anyway the bread:

For starters both DF and I had the cheese trio, which consisted of a bleu, goat and gouda, served with some toast, jam and a single blackberry. I love all cheese so found this passable but unremarkable, my friend was less impressed:

We also both had the Beef Tenderloin cooked Medium Rare. The beef was overcooked and not a very high quality, it was aided well by the onions though. The real star of the plate was the Cheddar Potato Tart in between the spinach and beef, delicious:

For dessert DF had the trio, she said the mouse was delicious while the other two were pretty much left untouched:

I had the signature "The Clock Strikes Twelve" dessert, which was by far my favorite course of the night (though I do have a sweet tooth). A white chocolate filling surrounded by dark chocolate with some graham cracker, its practically a smore, yum!

March 2nd Lunch: Via Napoli
It was very pleasant out when we came to this restaurant and we had a nice outdoor table with pretty prompt service. The food was overall good but I get better pizza at home (chicago) and it hardly reminded me of my days in Italy, so I may hit up one of the Tutto's next time, or lunch here on the dining plan, but I'd never pay the out of pocket prices.

DF started with the mozzarella Caprese:

I started with the Prosciutto e Melone, which is one of my favorite snacks/lunches ever since I was introduced to it abroad, and I make it at home pretty often. As such this was by far the biggest disappointment for me, the prosciutto was very dry as though it had been sitting out for far too long, and the melon under-ripe which just made the whole thing a dry, hard eat:

We both ordered pizza for our mains, DF got the Quattro Formaggi, a mix of mozzarella, parmesan, fontina and provolone cheese. I liked this much more than mine, and wouldd certainly recommend it (though not for $21!!)

I went with the Piccante as a lover of sausage, and it was good but nowhere near what I had expected:

As a hot day was bearing down and we were eating outside we went with gelato for dessert, we were just too full and it was too hot to do the zeppole that is so raved. DF opted for a plain vanilla gelato:

I went with a Gelato Frizzante, which is vanilla gelato and Aranciata, think of it as sort of a more refreshing, Italian version of a root beer float. It really hit the spot:

March 2nd Dinner: Artist' Point
Later in the evening we journeyed to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner at Artist's Point, and the grounds just blew me away. It was gorgeous, and is among my most desired places to stay when I return.

The Bread, a yummy sourdough with salted butter. To be honest the butter was bland even with the salt, but they try!

We split both starters. To begin we enjoyed the Tamarind Glaze Confit Natural Bacon, which is served with a quail egg, ginger dumpling and sunchoke puree. To put this appetizer in perspective, the egg on top is about the size of a quarter. Even so I would happily shell out twelve dollars for this again, the bacon just disintegrated onto my tongue, lighting all my taste buds on fire, it was that good. Probably the best appetizer of the entire stay.

For our second starter we had the Smokey Portobello Soup, which our waiter was kind enough to split into two bowls in the kitchen for us (and I think he brought us both full portions too, he was pretty awesome). I hate the texture of mushrooms but am okay with the flavour, so I was apprehensive going into this dish, but I had to stop myself from licking the bowl clean, it was awesome:

DF did the signature Cedar Plank-roasted King Salmon for dinner, which they plate tableside. It had the consistency of butter and earns it's reputation as their main dish:

I had the Pacific Northwest Trio, which consisted of a buffalo strip, venison loin and wild game sausage. The Venison and Sausage were largely what I would expect, slightly gamy but not overwhelming, the buffalo strip was just too tough though, I only got through half before I gave up:

We were both pretty full at this point so we ordered the Creme Brulee Trio to share and wrapped up the cobbler, sans ice cream, to go. The trio consisted of a basil white chocolate, a mocha, and a chocolate. The chocolate tasted of cold chocolate pudding, and was the only one either of us found even edible, the other two went into the garbage:

The cobbler was eaten at around 1 am in the middle of tomorrowland, after joining us for a ride on space mountain. It was delicious but there was no way I was going to try to get a photo of what that box looked like.

March 3rd Brunch: Tusker House
I'm not very good with buffet photos, I mean I'm not very good with photos so my ability to get buffet photos is just straight in the garbage, and of course I ate half a mickey before I even remembered, but here is one (Fruit, buscuits with gravy, mickey waffle, sweet potato hash, breakfast potatos, quiche, plantains, ham and bacon):

Tusker House was okay, we weren't prepared for the march of children and had we have had better foresight would have never chosen to eat here, but it was a perfectly passable brunch location if you have kids or really want to meet safari characters.

March 3rd Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse
We had a short wait to be seated here, and our waiter was probably the worst of the trip, but the food made up for it, unfortunately I didn't get to go to Le Cellier and compare, but this steak was wonderful

The bread was served with roasted garlic, which I spread liberally and ate entirely too much of:

For Starters we had the Artisanal Cheeses and the Charcuterie Board, both of which were my choices (I had been looking most forward to this restaurant). Unfortunately DF really didn't enjoy either, we tried substituting the macaroni for an app for DF but they wouldn't let us, so we ordered it in addition.

The cheeses consisted of Fourme d' Ambert, Petit Agour and Vermont Creamery Bijou. For this places signature designation this cheese plate underwhelmed me, though the pairing with the bleu was amazing:

The Charcuterie Board had suckling pig, country sausage, pepperoni, beef heart pastrami, and a pepperoni. I wasn't a big fan of the country sausage and the beef heart was fairly tough, but if you are a big lover of meats I'd recommend it:

DF had the Black Angus Filet Mignon for dinner, which was super tender, cooked perfectly, and well served by the sauce. Five stars:

I went with the 16oz Boneless Ribeye, which is served with a blue cheese butter, bone marrow and a brioche. The brioche is there to mellow the consistency of the marrow, and was welcome as I don't normally enjoy marrow on its own, but it worked wonderfully this way. Everything on the plate was perfect:

As stated earlier we also got the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese. It was great, but we were so full we only had a bite of it. It made an awesome snack later in the trip though!:

I don't know how we had room for dessert, but...
DF was still craving creme brulee, which we were apprehensive about after the awful showing at Artist's Point. It was a normal vanilla with seasonal berries, and this time it was what she was hoping for:

Two of my favorite foods are salted caramel and pretzels, so when presented with the Chocolate Peanut Cake which has both I pretty much had no choice. The cake itself was so rich and the gelato salty, I don't think I would have enjoyed either alone that much, but together they were heaven:

March 4th Breakfast: Kona Cafe
We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour this day (would absolutely recommend!) and wanted to make sure we had energy for it, so as soon as it opened we were off to one of the closest breakfast places to MK.

I love french toast, I love bananas, I love maple, I love bacon, and I love cinnamon. I think that pretty much sums up the Tonga Toast:

DF is allergic to bananas, so opted instead for the equally mouth watering Samoan, which is pulled pork hash topped with poached eggs and hollandaise. I love some eggs benedict, and this was a pretty awesome twist on it:

And luckily we made it to MK with plenty of time to spare...stupid crane:

March 4th Dinner: California Grill
I made a reservation to CG so that we would be sat about an hour before the fireworks started, and I'm pretty sure that will be a must do 180 days out before any return trip. If anyone's wondering why here is a selfie...

The bread, meh:

DF started with the Heirloom Apple and Kale Salad, which was overdressed to her taste, quite sour:

I had the Tuna Four Ways, since tuna is really the only fish I enjoy and spicy tuna rolls are my bread and butter whenever I join my friends for sushi. It included Tuna Poke, Tartare, Maki and Nigiri. The tartar was just okay, the nigiri and maki were yummy, exactly what I would expect from a place that takes pride in it, but the real shock was the poke, which I hadn't had before and found pretty amazing:

DF had the Oak Fired Filet for her main, and despite having it the previous night this filet did not fail to deliver. Served with a tomato risotto and tomato butter it was different enough to stand out, though quite rich:

I enjoyed the Pork Two Ways, which had grilled tenderloin served over a goat cheese polenta and then a lacquered belly with apple. It was easy to see why this was a favourite before the menu revamp, the polenta was just amazing on its own, the pork was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy and mmm, and then the belly adding that amazing bacon flavour to everything, just wow:

We ended up packing our desserts to go, unfortunately they didn't have many transportable items. We ended up taking the cheese board and the Chocolate Pudding Cake. Unfortunately the cheese got all jumbled up with the accompaniments and wasn't really eaten, but the pudding cake was delicious after chilling in the room for a few days:

March 5th Lunch: Hollywood Brown Derby
Going into this meal DF was not feeling very good at all, and it was actually the last meal we had together before she took an emergency flight home for what turned out to be a not so nice kidney infection. However we were there and she wanted to try to eat something, so she got a grilled cheese and I had a ginormous meal, because I eat a lot...

Bread:

I started with the cobb salad sans tomato. I read all the ingredients in this salad, and yet somehow was surprised with how mushy it all was. I guess I was expecting more/crisp lettuce, but regardless it was good so it's of no nevermind:

DF ordered the kids grilled cheese with potato chips, it was a grilled cheese with potato chips, no frills but its what she thought would help (and yes they did accidently charge us a 2DxDP credits for just this, but luckily we caught it and got it fixed before we left, the waiter knew we wanted to pay OOP but the computer didn't...):

I had the Filet, but I couldn't pass up how amazing the Spiced Chorizo Yellow Plantain Hash looked, and had to sub it in as my side. Both items were amazing on their own, but together BLAH. Someone hit me if I ever try to combine these again:

For dessert it was another trio, as that is all that HBD offers (or offered at that time). I got the Banana Toffee Cake, The Grapefruit Cake and the Double Vanilla Creme Brulee. All were awesome but the banana cake was far and away the best:

March 5th EPCOT: See next post

March 5th Late Dinner: Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe
I wasn't planning on this at all, but I had a whole lot of credits to burn through so I figured why not walk through downtown disney and take a boat down the sassagula back to my room. I had them bring both my starter and main at the same time, which was convenient since my starter was about 3x the size of the main.

For the appetizer I ordered the Grilled Italian Sausage, which came with creamy polenta. This was good, but way, way too much. I was so full from the day of epcot that I barely managed a few bites:

For the main I went with one of the special tuna rolls, which I forget the name of. It was good, a bit spicier than I'm used to but I live with people that want to douse everything with siracha and jalapenos so I got over it quick:

I obviously couldn't eat nearly all that, so I had to wrap the dessert, which was key lime pie. It was great later though!:

March 5th Epcot:
So I really wanted to drink/eat around the world, and unfortunately I had to wedge this in between a big lunch and dinner thanks to the unforeseen departure of DF, so I was hurting but I did it. I had a drink with a few meals but for this one I figured it warranted posting, as the drinks and snack credits were well more than a meal unto themselves.... I started in Canada...

Drink 1: Unibrou Cherry Ephemere (I'm not a huge fan of beer, but this one was pretty good/fruity):

Drink 2: English Rose (I like gin, I like fruity, this was great):

Snack 1: Fresh Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with Smoked Salmon Tartare (this was good but way too much salmon, I ended up scraping half off):

Drink 3: Georges Duboeuf Pouilly Fuisse/Chateau Tour de Segur (I love wine so I opted to save a bit and do the wine walk, this was the selection from france. I had already downed one and half of the other by the time I remembered the picture, but I'm sure you can imagine what wine looks like...):

Drink 4: Desert Rose (Sparkling wine with a pomegranate liqueur, Morocco didn't have many offerings...):

Snack 2: Frushi and Temaki Hand Roll (a fruit sushi and a chicken wrapped in Nori with curry), both were quite good, though I was already hurting at this point...:

Drink 5: Sake (whatever one of the cheaper ones was, awful decision this was horrible, I generally like sake but at home I spend a bit more...):

Drink 6: Billy's Chilies (America's offerings for drinks are weak, this looked unique and I could opt for a half portion which I did, and thankfully I did as it was horrendous):

Drink 7: Castello Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio/Rosa Regale:

Drink 8: Valckenberg Madonna Spatlese/Valckenberg Madonna Liebfraumilch (I just realized that translates to love girl milk, seriously why didn't I read this earlier...):

Drink 9: Plum Wine (I just wasn't feeling china at all):

Snack 3: Spring Pancake (chicken and apple):

Drink 10: Aquavit Shot
(picture missing, I did this while waiting in line for some skoolbread that I took to go)

Snack 4: Taco al Pastor

Drink 11: Margarita. I had the one where they put all the frozen ones into one. Do I seriously need to explain why I forgot this picture...

And after all that happened I had a lovely talk with a cast member. And by lovely I mean:

So I drank around the world and ended it with a bonus illumination pass, yay for not being a rowdy drunk I suppose!

March 6th Breakfast: Kouzzina
This was another unplanned meal, but I had the credits to burn so i figured why not, I was meeting my brother and sister in law at Hollywood Studios so I got a nice little walk around the pond with it!

I had the Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast, poached eggs, olive toast, artichoke spread and sweet potato hash. It was very different with the artichokes, but quite good:

March 6th Lunch: Hollywood Brown Derby
Since I was trying to burn through my extra stack I offered to buy my DB's lunch if he and DSiL joined me here on a whim, and they did. We had another cobb salad for a starter, and my brother also had the Blue Lump Crab Spring Rolls with Snow Crab Claw. He really liked it:

My DSiL ordered the Filet, but kept the red wine reduction and truffle oil forest mushroom mashed potatoes, which was a much better choice than my hash the day before:

I decided to try the lamb, which isn't a meat I generally enjoy. This was prepared well but since I had such a big breakfast my brother ended up eating most of it, which was the plan. As far as lamb goes though this was pretty good, the bleu cheese corn pudding was pretty awesome too:

My DB ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, knowing he was already getting a double dose of red meat from his wife and I. It was good, but really it's a hard dish to do poorly. The fried prosciutto was a nice touch though:

We again got trios for dessert and shared them all. They were again all good.
Blueberry Cobbler, Banana Toffee Cake, Caramal Custard with Passionfruit:

Creme Brulee, Amaretto Flan, Crunchy Sugar Cookie Puff:

March 6th Dinner: Flying Fish Cafe
The boardwalk area was pretty awesome, and our service at flying fish deserves a special mention, he was quite enjoyable.

The bread here was warm and yummy:

I started with the cheese, which was without a doubt the best cheese plate I had this trip. Robiola Bosina, Point Reyes Toma, Pecorino Toscano, midnight Moon Goat Cheese and Roquefort with all the accompianiments:

DB and DSiL split the Caesar and Crab Cake combo, which my SiL loved, and being from New England that is high praise:

I ordered the Grilled pepperberry and Wattleseed-crusted Snake River Farms American Kurobuta Pork Tenderloin, which came with a macaroni and cheese. All of the pork I had at Disney was amazing, and this was no exception, though the macaroni left something to be desired:

DSiL had the Orechiette di Abruzzo Pasta a la Bolognese. It was good, and a HUGE portion, easily splittable:

DB doesn't normally like scallops or risotto, but we already had him liking it out of his comfort zone and he opted for the Oak Grilled Maine Sea Scallops with a Pecorino Romano and Mascarpone-laced Risotto, and he loved it:

For dessert, Surprise! Another Creme Brulee, this time a white Chocolate and Raspberry that appealed to the DB and DSiL. I honestly don't remember their opinion on this:

I had the Caramelized Banana Napoleon. I love fruit desserts, and this was amazing, as light as I thought it would be but still very satisfying:

March 7th Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ
I don't have any pictures from here, my DSiL was reeling from the cost of the one extra entree purchase at HBD and FF the day before so we cancelled our plans and just did a quick bite here. It was a waste of DxDP credits, but if I weren't on the plan I'd probably go here anytime I was at AK, it was good enough that we had all finished our plates before I even thought to snap a photo. Definitely a great respite from all the lengthy sit down meals.

March 7th Dinner: Hoop Dee Doo Revue

This time the bread was cornbread. I love cornbread. This was okay. If you have a redstone near you, there is a reason they charge 4 dollars for a slice. I had dined at one shortly before coming here, so it soured me on average cornbread. Still a decent start for what was to come though:

Salad was brought out first, it was a basic tossed salad with a vinaigrette. No frills, but they didn't have frills out on the frontier now did they?

Next came the main courses, Baked Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Ribs and Fried Chicken. The chicken was amazing, cooked through but still moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, and everything else hit the spot:

For dessert they bring out a giant strawberry shortcake, but how they expect anyone to eat it is beyond me. The few bites I had were great, and then we had to make an early departure as they brought out the washboards and I think my DSiL was ready to immolate me...:

March 8th Breakfast: 1900 Park Faire

Another Buffet, this was by far my favorite buffet of the trip though, perhaps because I'm such a Lewis Carol fan. I wanted to stand up and recite the Jabberwocky no less than five times while eating. Being a buffet though again just one picture from one trip. The Strawberry soup was surprising in how good it was, I thought it would be sweeter but the sour cream cuts through that, and the made to order omelettes are what I expect at brunch so it was nice. Also cheese blintz, cantaloupe, biscuits with gravy, bacon and sausage:

March 8th Lunch: Liberty Tree Tavern
I have only been to Disney twice as an adult, this trip and one during December of 2012, when my brother took me to MK as a Christmas gift. On that trip I treated to LTT for dinner, and I forced them back to treat for lunch on this trip, so I suppose that's going to be the tradition in the making. The service here is so slow though, I don't know if I'll be able to keep it.

New England Clam Chowder:

Tavern Fried Cheese:

DB had the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger, it was pretty average:

I indulged in the Pilgrims' Feast, so thanksgiving dinner for lunch in between a buffet at 1900 and dinner at Jiko. I really like eating I guess, and thanksgiving is what LTT does best so:

March 8th Dinner: Jiko
I was able to slightly change my dinner at Jiko to reflect my new party size of one, and when I got there they offered me the one empty spot at the jiko, which was pretty awesome. The chefs working the appetizer station were incredibly engaged, entertaining, and between them and the other guests I completely forgot I was there alone. Artist Point had the best appetizer and California Grill the best entree of this trip, but Jiko stole the show for best overall experience for me.

The meal started with an amuse bouche, which was some form of cheese wrapped in beef, I'm sorry I can't remember more than that, but it was good!:

The bread came out and it was the first time this trip that the butter actually had some taste, unfortunately the bread wasn't too my liking, but that's okay because I think I've already eaten enough for 12:

For a started I did the Grilled Wild Boar Tenderloin. I was a bit overwhelmed by how much there was in here, I think it could be a course onto itself, but the veggies and meat and everything blended together well, and I was sad when I had finished the bowl:

For my main I had to do the recommended Filet with Macaroni, which was good but made me wish I had been able to have it back when it was actually on the menu, as I don't think the two go together as well now as I have seen pictures in the past. Still quite lovely:

For dessert I went with the Chocolate and Tea Safari, a kit kat with green tea ice cream. It was delicious:

March 9th Breakfast: Crystal Palace
I managed to get an 8:05 reservation for Crystal Palace and despite not caring at all about Pooh I was going to keep it darnit. Another Buffet picture, Stuffed french toast, banana bread, bacon, fruit, sausage, omelette, breakfast lasagna:

March 9th Lunch: Be Our Guest
I wasn't even hungry, but I had one more credit to burn before I got on my plane, I had an FP+ for BoG, and I wanted to see inside. I got a sandwich which was a bit dry and a cupcake, neither of which I really liked (call me a blasphemer all you like, meh):

great reviews and photos thanks for posting. When we were last at Yachtsman we were able to sub one of our sides for the truffle mac - shame you couldn't. I loved it ;)

:)Thanks for sharing your reviews! I still want to try the Yachtsman if only for the rolls and garlic.

I just saw your review. Great!!

I am also from Chicago. I think we just love to eat here.

Thanks for sharing.

Just wanted to say thank you for the reviews & pics.
Thanks to you, I may try to sit at "the jiko" when my sister & I go next month.:thumbsup2

Thank you for your review and pictures. I hope your friend is alright. What a shame she had to leave, but lucky she could get an emergency flight home.
I really enjoyed all the pictures, and you finishing. ;)

Excellent reviews
Seriously impressed with your drinking around the world ability :thumbsup2
