Hi-we have never been to WDW and are surprising the kids with a quick weekend trip. We will only have a Sat & Sun at the parks. I definitely want to go to MK. Should we just focus both days on MK or try to do MK one day and a different park the next day? I would love any suggestions, comments, etc. BTW, kids are ages 9, 12, 14. We are not getting hopper tickets. Thanks!

you will get lots of different answers, but here is my .02! We went several years just going to MK without ever going to the other parks. There is so much to see and do at MK, you can easily spend 2 days there and still not see it all. My advise would be to do MK for both of your days and just take the time to really see and enjoy it. See the parades and fireworks, ride the rides enjoy the characters and save the other parks for trips where you have more time.

I would do Epcot, too. Since your kids are a little older, they will probably enjoy the rides there, too.

I agree with MK and Epcot.

And with limited time, if there is a gap between when they find out and when you actually go to the park (like if you arrive Friday night) I would have everyone look at a list of attractions and pick the one or two things at each park that they must*must*must do, and plan around those things.

See..I'm gonna have to vote MK and MGM.
If your kids like thrill rides (the 2 best are at MGM) or if they like movies/props.
My girls are 11 and 7... and all 3 of us would do MGM over any of the other parks :)
Epcot 'can' be kinda boring.... (ducking before someone smacks me) LOL

I vote for MK and Epcot. I love MGM, but Epcot is open later and you can catch Illuminations.

I would just focus on MK b/c realistically MK will be more suitable for the ages of your kids, b/c there's a ride for every age at MK unlike other parks they are more limited in the age diversity.

I agree! We love Epcot too, but find it difficult to do both MK and Epcot with only one day for each. There is more than enough to do @ MK to keep you busy for both days.

Thanks for all the great advice. I am still unsure on which parks we will do. If it was totally up to me, we would only do MK. I know the kids will all have their own opinions. We'll have to see how much we get to see at MK the first day.

I would do MK (because you just have to) and MGM because your kids would probably like this one over Epcot. Animal Kingdom is great, but you can go to your local zoo anytime.

We did MK and AK when we only had two days with our 7 yo niece. She is interested in animals, we don't have a very good zoo, and she loves Princesses so it seemed the obvious choices for us. In the past we have done MK and Epcot.

Just me and DH, we would do AK over MGM or Epcot. Everyone is so different!!

I would poll your kids to see where their interests lie.

If it was just me I would be at EpCot the entire weekend!

Oh no no no! Don't under estimate AK....its NOTHING like a local zoo! :lmao:

I agree with the post about having your family vote on your second day. I think if you are at MK from open to close, that will be enough for you and your kids (at their age). My "guess" is that they will vote for MGM or Epcot...lots of "action" for kids that age! :thumbsup2

Other than MK, I guess it depends on what you think your kids will like. I would chose MGM because my stepson is a huge star wars fan, and there are definately shows that my dd's would enjoy. And your kids are a little older so i'm sure they would like towere of terror and rock n rollercoaster. I also heard the parade there was great. You'll have fun no matter which 2 parks you choose.

What weekend? If it is a weekend when the MK closes early for MNSSHP or MVMCP then I would say get hoppers and do MK and Epcot.

As you can tell there are sooo many different opinions. If it is your first trip I would concentrate on MK but if you do decide to do another park, Epcot would be my second chioce especially with the age of your kids. They would love Future World. Suprisingly my two boys (ages 9 and 6) wanted to do two days at Epcot on our last trip. I think we wore out Soarin' and Test Track. Have a great trip. You will definately be hooked. :cool1:
