Hi all! We're leaving on September 24 for our first "real" holiday in 10 years! We're driving to Disneyland from Alberta and plan to arrive in Anaheim on October 1!! I am so excited!
We have a suite booked at the Desert Inn & Suites which I have seen varying reviews for since (some okay and some are awful).
We have pre-purchased our 5-day park hopper passes. It's going to be myself and hubby and our 2 kids (ages 2 & 5). Any suggestions/tips/ideas of things to do to make our trip even more special would be great!
Also, we want to go to a character breakfast. How do I make reservations and is it really necessary to have reservations at this time of year?
I'd love to hear any and all tips and suggestions!

First off- Completely envious... :)

2nd HAVE FUN!

3rd- Id recommend PSs for character meals nomatter what the season, better safe than sorry- if noone else has the # right off I'll go find it :)

Have a great time! Are you going to have any lime green w/you? Since I have been practically living at DL lately (have been the last 2 weekends in a row), I just might be over there while you're there.

zedmom, I know that your time is short, but whenever you can find some time in the coming days (after the kiddos are in bed, probably ;)) research this DL board like crazy. It's sort of like cramming for a final, but a whole lot more fun! lol ::yes:: There are other good DL websites out there, too. I'm pretty loyal to the DIS, but laughingplace.com is pretty good, as well as mouseplanet.com for finding info.

Also, see if your local library has The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland and check it out. Take it on your trip and read it along the way. It's very helpful.

Wishing you a safe, enjoyable trip and a fantastic time at Disney!

zedmom, MAKE YOUR PRIORITY SEATING CALL NOW. The weekend that you arrive is the Gay Days convention/celebration at DL, and it means a fair amount of increased crowds. Definitely better to be safe than sorry.

Have a wonderful time!!

And I totally agree with BlackUnicorn, make your PS arrangements now since you're arriving on a busy weekend!

My kids love breakfast & brunch at Goofy's Kitchen and lunch or dinner at Ariel's Grotto.

We've stayed at Desert and it was okay. Very basic, but a very good staff, with decent rooms & large fridges!

Zedmom-Welcome to the DIS:wave2:

I agree with all the above posters - make your ressies now. I have gone in the off season and sometimes the place is empty and sometimes I see families waiting for an hour...you don't want that to be you. It should be perfect weather and the crowds will be lower than summer for sure. Have a safe (long...geesh) drive and an absolutely wonderful vacation!

P.S. Try to go to the beach one day, it is very relaxing and a lot of fun, great rest from the hustle and bustle of the parks:)
