Online reservation

crisi, I don't mean to imply I expect the rollout of a perfect system. Just that the phone is always an option.

It's not likely that DVC reinvented the wheel, ie the booking system, just so we could gain online access. (ok, I know they did with the recent system upgrades, but you know what I mean) I expect the same underlying mechanics that exist now to make phone reservations will still be in place for online reservations. It's only the implementation of an on-line interface to the current booking system that will be new.

And since the on-line system is likely to be simply a web form that gets passed to the booking engine, there shouldn't be any more problems than there are with the phone system, given that the same safeguards and "rules" will still apply.

Come to think of it, the phone system in place today has some holes in it, doesn't it? But as an early adopter when it comes to most things, I'll be there hoping for the best. Stay tuned for my OMG threads when/if stuff goes awry!
