Online Reservation question

When you cancel a reservation ONLINE, can you reuse the points to make new reservation ONLINE right away or is there a delay? If there's a delay, how long? I want to book a different reservation using points from a reservation that needs to be cancelled. I would prefer not to wait until MS is open. Thanks!

Points are returned immediately if you cancel online.

Thanks. After I cancelled, the points are not showing up under the contract numbers that were used. And I can't seem to access the points to make a different reservations. I still show that I have "0" in that contract. The "snapshot" view of my vacation points on the online reservation page shows the points back in the use year but when I try to reserve something, they don't show up in the contract. I have refreshed a few times to make sure I wasn't looking at cache.

I've cancelled a couple of reservations online and I saw and could use the returned points immediately.

I finally got things to work. Had to log out and completely close down my browser and start it up again, then log in again. Thanks for your posts because it gave me the security to keep trying until I could do it. I was able to cancel a previous reservation and snag a cool boardwalk view that was available to my grand surprise.
