Where do the people on ebay and other sites get all the pins they sell in lots and auctions? I mean I know what the individual pins sell for and that does not add up to a cost effective business. Just wondering, please let me know.

a lot are bought a the Character Conection in Orlando wher they are 1 to 3 bucks and some are bought by CMs in the back lot area when they go on sale. Others are just traded for. Some one will trade for a good pin and give 3 or 4 other pins for it. If you paid rack rate for it you are way ahead. And if you are like me after 10 years of doing this I have a TON of pins that don't trade oe sell well so I am thinking of putting up a few lots of pins to recoup what I can.

The people who are selling the same exact 10 pins over and over buy them from counterfeiters in China. They pay pennies per pin, then sort them into lots and sell them on eBay. That's why we don't buy pins on eBay anymore.

The "sharks" are the ones who will trade you one of their pins for 3 or 4 brand new rack pins, then they sell the new rack pins on eBay. While those will sell for less than full price, those are not the ones you see with the same identical pins, in the same identical lot, under multiple user names, day after day for months. Nobody just coincidentally has a hundred each of the same 10 pin designs.
