Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this- I booked a package for December, and I want to make some payments on it as I save up money. My understanding is that you can pay any amount at any time, right?

For some reason I remember reading here once that making online payment wasn't a good idea- but I can't remember why they said that. Are mailing checks a better choice?? I usually do everything online, so safety isn't a concern necessarily for me.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?? Thanks Dis'ers!

I have made a couple of payments on our summer vacation and I haven't had any problems with it. It is quick and simple to do.

is that people have said not to make your ressie online as then you will not be able to make advance payments. If you call in and make your ressie, then you can make payments online with no problems....I've made 6 of them so far!;) HTH

You can make payments online through WDW as long as the payments are at least $20. I have made all my payments online so far and have had no problems. My payments usually come out of my bank account right then, and show up on WDW reservation site with in a few hours.:surfweb:

I made my ressie online and have made all my payments online as well. :confused3

I've made payments online with no issues. I heard people having issues paying via the telephone with CRO though.

a problem making room only ressie on line and then being able to make extra payments. I think with a package it was not a problem! :confused3

Is yours a package? Anyway...Don't take my word for anything!:lmao: My answers may or may not agree with what Disney would tell you and I'm sure their answers would vary also!;) Sorry if I just added more confusion to the thread!:goodvibes

ETA:OT, Hey our countdowns are the same! We are at POR too! See you there!

Thanks everyone for your quick responses- I think I will go ahead and make an online payment! At least this way I won't have quite the sticker shock when I have to pay the package off in October. :thumbsup2

I also love, love doing things online. Last year I made my ressies with Disney online. Then a promotion came out and I wanted to apply it to my existing ressies. The CM I spoke to said I could not do it because I made it online. If I had called the ressies in and done it over the phone there would have been no problem applying the new promotion.

This makes no sense whatsoever to me. I did try calling back and speaking to another CM and got the same answer. So for me, from now on, I will be calling in and waiting on the long holding pattern when making reservations!

I booked my package online and made all of my payments online. I haven't had any issues. I printed out the page from my account that showed I have a $0 balance just in case.

Sorry, just noticed a sticky at the top of this thread which may help you:

"Until Disney makes any changes I am going to leave this stuck at the top of the page.

Disney's system WILL NOT ALLOW for any additional payments to be made (other than the deposit) to any ROOM ONLY reservation booked online (whether it be best rate, FL resident or regular rack rate.)

If you call and get a CM that applies an additional payment, that payment will be REFUNDED back to your credit card. It will not stay on the reservation.

I know that a lot of people have had questions about this and confusion, but this does apply to all room only reservations made online."

I've booked and made all payments on-line and never had any trouble. To me, its more convenient. :)

What about room only reservations made over the phone? Can I make payments to those?

Yes, but you can only make them with a CM on the phone; you CANNOT make them online.

To clear up the confusion, the problem is for ROOM-ONLY reservations made online - NOT for PACKAGES booked online. If you booked a package online, then you can make the payment online. If you booked the room-only reservation online, then you cannot make add'l payments online. :teacher:
