Online or Phone for Reservations?

I normally make my dining reservations 6 months in advance and do a lot of planning for our trips. Well, my daughter who usually doesn't accompany us on our WDW trips announced yesterday that she wanted to go to WDW the week before Christmas. We're so excited that she wants to go that I'm throwing together a last minute trip. Naturally I can't get any ADRs, and we'll have her two little girls who love princesses with us. I know getting a princess character meal is a big long shot, and there's currently nothing available, but if I'm going to check a couple times a day between now and then, am I better off doing it on line or by calling? Is there a difference in availability depending on how I do it?

Try the dining reservation finder on the touring plans site. It's free and they send you a text when a reservation opens up. I was able to find a pre park opening BOG reservation using it. I would say check online too.

I have also had a lot of luck with touring plans reservation finder. They check fairly frequently and send you a text or email.

Otherwise I would check on-line. I wouldn't waste time holding on the phone and they would really only check what you can see on-line anyway.

for what it is worth, when we were there for 10 days before and after Christmas in 2015, the night before there were ressies open for everywhere. 'Ohana, Park Fare, Cali Grill...you name it. i know it doesn't help you plan now, which is what you want to do...but don't sweat it.

Thanks! I signed up for the reservation finder and I'm hoping I have Heidi's luck with last minute availability!
