We are planning a family trip October 2015 and will be booking 3 standard studios and one standard 2 bedroom. I know these rooms go very quickly....am I better off booking online and having the 8am advantage or call Member Services at 9 am? I have just enough points to do this and don't want to let anyone down.

I would do it online, you have an hour advantage. You would have to do one at a time. I don't see any advantage waiting to call.

Thanks...I hadn't realized the booking window opened online an hour earlier. I am going to practice this before the time comes.

MS would have to go through the same process as you do online. One reservation at a time, they can't hold inventory.

You can book online an hour earlier and you don't have to worry about someone else making a mistake.

If you need to bank points, you can do so prior to 8:00 Eastern.

After you have booked all four reservations:
E-mail or later call MS:
Have them place a "Travel with" notification on all four reservations of the other three reservation numbers. You can make additional requests such as being close to each other or within the same building if OKW/SSR at that time.

That is a great tip and never heard that term( Travel with) before.I am only putting one name on each reservation when I first book to save time and have to call Member Services later anyways!! Love alll the helpful tips from you all!!

I find the online tool far superior to calling member services. I just finished walking a reservation at my 7 month window just using the tool with no calling required. I would suggest trying to book a reservation prior to the one you need to make sure you feel very comfortable with procedures. I have it down to booking within 1 minute of opening. If you need to borrow then bring the points into the use year you will use them so you don't waste time doing that. You can add names later but I always put my name on all rooms so I control reservation . Once everything is booked i then call member services to get a travel with # for all reservation and put in special requests. I just booked Aulani for june in an ocean view grand villa and an ocean view studio. Seems to be alot of availability so walking wasn't really needed but I did it to be safe as my plane reservations were already booked and my dates weren't flexible. I love this tool

I am booking 4 separate rooms at BWV (all standard views which I know go very quickly during F&W) and want to make sure I can put my name on each one when booking online. We don't really know who is going to be in which room right now so will call later and add the guests names?? Also not sure of the procedure with everyone getting Magic bands and linking park passes and all of that. So for now just do my name on all rooms?

You can only be the primary person on 1 reservation- you will need a name for each room. I believe the primary guest can be changed later but you will need someone to be primary for each reservation.

I thought that too when I read this thread. When booking multiple rooms I put myself and then my daughter or husband.

That is exactly as I thought....thank you for the replies.

One more question here.... just found out that I have to call Member Sevices since these are transferred points. In terms of what is most diifcult to book I am going to do the 3 studios first (SV) then the 2 bedroom. Since I have just enough points for all standard views I am thinking if I cannot book a 2 bedroom SV I have enough points to book 2 studios either BW view or garden view if necessary. Am I thinking right about this?

Last night online I made 2 reservations for studios in Feb same dates. There was no problem.
