Today, I received a letter from Jim Lewis inviting me to participate in the 2005 Annual Condominium Association Survey. The online survey was to be completed by 9/24, but the system allowed me access tonight.

There were questions about planning DVC vacations (do you plan on weekdays, weekends or both?), MS hours ( if available would you call Sat 9am-1pm, Sat 1pm-5pm, late Thursdays 5pm-9pm, late another evening 5pm-9pm or 9-5 weekdays?), How many trips, How far in advance do you reserve, do you own timeshares other than DVC (yes, they did use the word "timeshares"), importance of DVC discounts, what discounts and even what websites do you visit for information (DisBoards was specifically mentioned), would you prefer online access to account information, etc.

This was a random survey and results will be available at the annual meetings and in a future VM. It took about 20 minutes to complete the survey.

Interesting survey with a different focus than others I've been invited to participate in the past.

Thanks for sharing that info with us, Doc. It sure seems that some of those questions were things I heard brought up to Jim Lewis on the Member Cruise and they are aware of many of the DISers here. I was lucky enough to meet and talk to Jim on the cruise - what a nice guy!

It sounds as if the questions were to-the-point rather than generic.

Yes, many of the questions seemed to be directed towards possible changes in MS - hours, days, etc. Some were still typical demographics- age, income, etc. - but the main focus did seem to be in the member services/discounts area. There were a couple of opportunities for personal comments about DVC in general.

They did mention that there would not be any follow-up calls or other contact.

I took the survey 2 days ago and I thought the questions were geared toward future changes too.

There were also survey questions about the member website and room for comments. On the Member Cruise, JL admitted DVC dropped the ball on the site and that would receive more resources and attention. I made sure I commented about my dislike of the member site and rarely visit it. Thank goodness for the Dis!! or I would be so out of it!

No questions about the Dining Plan though! LOL! Maybe they have already made that decision. :goodvibes

I was selected for a random survey with MS after my call today. Questions were

- time on hold - was it satisfactory?
- reservation process/quality of call (or something to that effect)
- how would you make your future reservations (phone, fax, email, internet)

It looks like this survey is considering change in hours (time on hold question), quality of service (quality of call question), and new methods of booking (how would you like to make a future reservation)
