Are you less likely to have special room requests fulfilled if you use Online Check In?

Staying at Corranado and would prefer a refurbed room that doesn’t face the parking lot.

The online check-in does not allow you to be that specific. You should call and have your reservation updated to reflect your specific requests. You can still do an online check-in just don't chose any additional options that might conflict with what is noted on your reservation.

We do online checkin, and call and add our special requests to our reservation notes. Then, about a week prior to checkin, we also send in a Touring Plans room request with our preferred room needs as well. We do as much as we can to make sure they know our preference, especially since its a medical issue.

Your unit will be assigned 3-5 days in advance whether you check in online or not. Only thing is, you could get your request... And have it given away to someone else anyway who complains at the desk before you get there, rather than having the room number texted to you, somewhat locking it in.

The desk has limited reassignment ability.

Do you have to have a subscription to Touring Plans for them to fax the room request for you? I've always just handled on my own but curious.

Thanks!

Questions about on-line check in:
1) During on-line check in, is that where I key in my credit card? and if so, is that where I give them a four digit code for charges?
2) If we find a better deal, can we switch resorts after doing on-line check in prior to arrival?

1. Yes and yes.
2. Yes.

If you booked a standard room then chances are you will be facing a parking lot, if you don't want a parking lot view then you need to book garden or water view.

I just did the online check in for an upcoming trip in October. I was able to request a section of buildings (Pop), but nothing more specific. I don't remember being able to input my arrival time (11:45 at MCO). Can that be modified? Or is it not a big deal since I will probably arrive on property, I suspect around 1:00ish. I'm still debating whether to hit a park or have a resort/Disney Springs day.

I was able to select my arrival time when I did online check-in for our Pop trip in October. We normally do a rest day/Disney Springs, but we are going to go to MNSSHP our first night instead.

I'll have to go back into the reservation and check. I have an 8 day ticket for my ten day stay. I arrive on Wednesday, plan to do the MNSSHP on Friday as a non park day. Debating whether to use or save a non park day for arrival day. Thanks.
