I have utilized the online check in and I am using magic bands we already have. So, I don't have to check in at the hotel right? Sorry if this is a super dumb question! We can just drop off our luggage and head to a bus? I am hoping to get there at 7:15 the latest.

That is correct. You should get a text when the room is ready.

As long as you are texted your room number, then you don't have to check in.

you dont need to wait to get room number text to enter parks or use dining credits!

Maybe, maybe not. Not everyone that does Online Check In is able to Bypass The Front Desk. Some will still have to stop by the Front Desk.

Yes, no need to Check In to use your Tickets, Dining Credits, etc.

If you're staying at a Deluxe or Moderate you would drop your stuff off with Bell Services. If you're staying at a Value you would drop your stuff off with Luggage Assistance.

No. You will have to be IN your room for them to bring it up. Only when you have Magical Express pick up your luggage at MCO will your luggage be delivered to your room whether you're in it or not.

You need to do online check in first.

There are some glitches (I know you are shocked!) when it comes to bands, tickets, dining plans, and packages.
Sometimes they don't quite all start working right like they should. It's more of an issue with packages than with room only, since those tickets are separate.
Personally, if it were me, and I was already going to the resort to drop bags, I'd pop by the desk and make sure everything is ready to go. Sure better than getting to the park and finding out your tickets aren't activated, or getting to a dining location and finding out your package isn't activated. Sure, you can fix it then but it's a bit more of a PITA to deal with then vs. just letting the desk get anything squared away that may not be quite square

Disney allows check in starting at 6 AM on arrival day. Rooms are often ready well before 3:00.

Plan on arriving late on a Saturday night, staying over at a nearby non Disney hotel and I was thinking of going straight to one of the water parks before checking in at the GF. So, now after reading this, I think we will buzz by the GF, drop off our luggage, make sure everything is ok THEN head to the water parks. Sound good?

That's what I would do. For piece of mind. I always do online check in but in most cases I stop by the desk just to make sure we have no issues with our MB, etc, when we arrive. And to say "hey" to the staff.
