Online Check-in

Can anyone here offer any advice as to the pros and cons of checking in early online for a WDW vacation? I will arrive on 5/24, but check-in is already available as an option on the website and MDE app. I can't understand why I would need to check in over 40 days out, but since they offer it as an option, I wondered if there were any possible benefits that I might be unaware of. I know that they don't start room assignments this far out, but I wondered if they might choose people to preview MagicBands or FP+ from among those who have checked in early.

You want to do it before you arrive to make check in easier. However, I don't think it makes any difference if you do it 40 days out or 1 day out.

Room assignments don't happen until the morning of anyway.

Hi , we have always done the check-in for the room before we get to our vacation . It works out well when you can do it and when you get to your resort they have a line you go in just for checked in people . It is fast and will help you get to the fun fast fast fast . Hope this helps you .

My understanding is that when you use Online Check-in your room is among the First that are assigned on your arrival day.

I've done it both ways, and it saves a little time. Not a ton.

We never did the online check-in that far out, but I can tell you it does save time. All your paperwork is ready and waiting and a separate CM is there just for those who have checked in online. We went at different times of year and usually avoided the busiest times, but it seemed to me it was always quicker. And easier. And they already had our "room requests" noted.

We enjoy it--althought I usually wait until the week we arrive. The quicker I can check in, the quicker I am on the bus to MK and a hot dog at Casey's for our traditional first day meal.
