I booked a honeymoon trip to AKL for DS and his new wife but got a pool view. If they checkin online are they less likely to receive a complimentary upgrade than if they checked in when they get there. They probably won't be arriving until around 7:30pm on 3/22.
I wanted to book a Savanah view for them but the nonstop flight from CA was $$$ and we wanted to give them money for all their meals and park admissions. I just know how nice it would be for them to wake up to the animals, but it's probably far fetched that they will get an upgrade anyways. To me it's a big highlight of staying there, but DH says we can only do so much. As it was during the planning stage we looked at the value resorts then booked at POR then called and changed it to AKL. They are so excited.
Any advice would be appreciated!
