Online check-in ?

I've read some posts here regarding online check-in and have a question. I understand that if you have made a previous request such as asking for the Springs section at SSR, the system will erase that request when checking in online and the resort will have no information regarding that previous request. I'm wondering when that previous request is deleted. Does the "previous special request" get deleted during online check-in if you use the drop down bar and make a special request during the online check-in? Does it automatically delete your previous special request even if you're checking in online and not adding any special request? In other words, if I check-in online and do not add any special requests using the drop down bar, will SSR still know I requested a room in the Springs section?

The problems that we had occurred when the reservation is passed to the resort. DVC is using the Disney CRO on-line check-in program. The DVC and CRO programs don't record the same information and the CRO program, which is passed to the resorts, ignores the DVC information. The Managers that I spoke to at the DVC resorts hoped that they would get this fixed.

It doesn't do any good to verify that your requests are still good with MS because they don't see what is passed to the resorts.

Personally we have used the on-line check-in several times and I don't see any benefit for our family. We have had enough problems with MS getting things correct, I don't need another problem added to the mix.

I hope it does not cancel anything. I just did online check in. I requested Congress Park DTD view or Grandstand when I booked the ressie. Why do I get the sinking feeling that I've lost my requests.
