Well i'm ready, all set to raring to go

Advice on the online check in, what details do i need at hand for me to fill in the form.

We do not have much time when we land at Gatwick for checkin in and shopping LOL. We also have to collect of luggage from BA to take it to Virgin.

We land at 815 and have to check in at 815, for a 1115 flight, so would like to have most things sorted out ready. We also have to visit the Virgin desk to as the made a mistake with car hire voucher so have to collect a new one.

Can i check in around lunch time.

For your Virgin flight, you can do online check-in from 24 hours to 2 hours before the flight.

You need to have your booking details and passports for all passengers to hand, although you could pre-enter all this information at any time on the VA website under 'manage my flights'. Pre-entering will make the online check-in quicker when the time comes to do it.

Online check-in worked well for us and I'll certainly be looking to do it again whenever we go

For online check in you will need your booking reference, passprots and also best to have the address of your first nights accommodation for the Advance Passenger Information.

From the VA website here is some more info -

Check In online and select your seats up to 24 hours before your flight is due to depart. All you have to do is:

Click the 'Check In' button and enter your details at least 2 hours before your flight is due to depart;

Go to the Virgin Atlantic DIY Check In Bag Drop counter, drop off your luggage (if you have any) and collect your boarding pass at least one hour before you fly as bag drop facilities will close 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight.

Passengers who have failed to drop their bags and collect their boarding pass by this time will not be able to travel.

Thanks, debating weather just to wait until the day and hope our BA plane is on time, and use internet at the airport, is the check in availble during the night as we have 3 hours to kill at Newcastle airport.

Itchy fingers is what i have, DH is the one who thinks we should wait and check in at Gatwick

Online checkin is open from 24 hours before until 2 hours before so yes it is open throughout the night. As time is so tight at Gatwick I would do online if I were you and then if the plane is late into Gatwick you only have to get the bags checked in 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and your seats are already sorted.
