Online check in without credit card on file ?

Hello All,

Okay, here’s my situation. My credit card got hacked and I called Disney Reservations and talked to several people, including a supervisor and the front desk of Fort Wilderness and no one I talked to would take my new credit card number. They noted that my old card was disabled and said not to worry about it and to just set up the new card at my resort. I asked if I could still do online check-in without a card on file and they said yes, no problem. Has anyone had a situation like this? I want to do online check-in but I thought your card got charged when you do that. Very confused.

I do online check in all the time, but I never leave a card "on file". I enter the cc info separately for each trip. I'm a little to paranoid about hacking to leave my cc on file online. When you do the online check in, there will be a place to click to enter your payment info, and there will be a box you can check if you want to leave that as a credit card on file.

If you booked a room only reservation, your card is charged for a one night deposit at the time of booking, and then not charged again until you are physically at the resort. Doing online check in does not trigger a charge to your card.

Thanks, fla4fun for the clarification. I've never done online check in before so I didn't know you could enter a card number then. I guess I don't need to worry after all.

And it's way safer to enter your card into a trusted website with your trusted computer vs over the phone to some random stranger.
