Online Check-in - Virgin

Will be doing this at 11:15am tomorrow so just wondering what info I will need.

So far, I'm thinking:
- Flight Number
- Reference (the one on the invoice)
- Passports

Will I need to print anything out?

I also emailed Virgin and asked if we can drop our luggage off at Twilight after doing OLCI and they said 'yes' (but if they say no when we get there tomorrow it's not a problem!).

ETA: Also, what info will I need to know to fill in the customs forms thingy they give us on the plane?

Here's what it says on the VA website:

"You will be asked to enter your booking reference or e-ticket number, first name, surname and flight details. You will have the opportunity to identify any of your travel companions you wish to check in with. Please ensure you have the entire group’s passports or passport details to hand, as you will need these to complete check in."

You should get the customs and imigration forms when you check in. Make sure you ask for some spare ones
They are quite simple, but it's easy to make a mistake or put something in the wrong box (I know, I do it everytime LOL).

For the forms you will need you passport number and where you are staying for your first night. As well as where you are flying from (London) and the Airline/Flight number (e.g. VS015)
You fill one green for in each, and one white form per family (if you all have the same surname).
Remember to sign the back of the green form.
No mistakes or crossings out are allowed!

We used on line check in, in November and although it says on the website that you don't need to print the confirmation to take with you to the airport, we did and we were asked for this at the first security check before you check in your bags.

It is really easy to do this - I have done it in the past and will be doing the same in February.

I have done twighlight check in as well and stayed at a hotel at the airport - which was very relaxing as you then only have to go to departures.

Either way it takes away the stress when you get to the airport.

I am going to check in 24 hours before my flight on line and then turn up at Gatwick about 1.5 hours before my flight to check my bags - and it is great as you dont have to join everyone else waiting to check in!

Incidentally dont forgot to apply for the virgin flying club - it is really good as you can use the points for further flights or various other things like car rental!

Hey everyone - we're here in Gatwick. They had no problems whatsoever with letting us drop off our bags at Twilight Check-in (just to let anyone who's wondering whether you can use both know!).

We were supposed to get something to eat tonight but we've both lost our appetites! Can't believe it's really happening.

Oh, BTW - should I put 'LONDON' or 'LGW' in the space on the I-94W that asks what city you departed from? I imagine it's 'LONDON' as it asks the city and not the airport!

Oh well, will ask a stewardess on the flight (the girl who checked us in didn't really seem to know).
