We are in our 10 day window for OKW and just wondering how online check in has worked for others. I have seen the list for requests so I would be hoping SouthPointe near a canal. Prefer upper room. We would be arriving around 3pm.

How well has online check in worked for you folks? Once room is assigned, are you pretty much stuck with what they give you?

Our exp. at OKW has been we have been able to get a request or two met upon arrival. Ex. last trip...we arrived to be placed in HH area, only problem was we were being given a 1 bed with the 1 door to bath area. We prefer the 2 doors so we got TP area instead, upper floor.
 
Online check in requests are brand new so I don't know how well they work yet. The reason that Disney has online check in is so guests don't make changes upon arrival but some still do.

We checked in online for BLT once and we were told by the Front Desk that changes were not allowed. Obviously, they have changed their policy.

I asked the same question for my trip earlier this year, and the concensus was that there was not any disadvantage to participating in online check in.

You still have the option to change your room if you wish. However, assuming that you are satisfied with your room assignement, it really was much more convenient.

They met me outside the lobby, addressed me by name, escorted me directly to a check-in desk, and was on my way with in 5 minutes.... much faster and more convenient than what I have experienced in the past.
