Online check-in? Or not?

We are 10 days out from our grand gathering (yay!), and I have the option of online check-in. I did it with no problem for our last trip, but it was just the 4 of us in one room at OKW (no request). This trip we will have 2 rooms at AKV KV, and 12ppl on the reservation.

Would I be better off doing online check-in and putting in an additional request? When I made the reservation I requested close to pool (we have savanna views). After reading (too much) about KV, I am thinking I should add Sunset Savannah to the request.

What are the pros/cons of online check-in? Would it make it easier/harder given we have such a big group? Thanks!!!

Requests have to be made with MS. Online check in seems to be a mixed bag, some people like it, other don't. Some say it's beneficial, others don't see a benefit.

I have sent requests via email to MS in the past and have had no problem having them added to the reservation. I've had mixed luck with my requests tho, both with online check in and not.

That being said, the other problem with online check in is that only one credit card can be added to the room key online. So, if you have more than one family on your ressie and they want to use their own cc, the only option with online check in is to leave the cc info blank, then have the cc's added when you arrive. It will take a few minutes as the keys have to be reissued, but there's no other option.

We were told at Vero Beach that if you are familiar with the resort use the online checkin but if you are going to have all kinds of questions you should use regular checkin. They told us that with online checkin they are supposed to just hand you your packet and you're on your way. Hope this helps.

We like it but as mentioned, we want to get our things and go. We don't add a credit card to the KTTW card and while we have put in some minor requests, we don't worry about them and take whatever we have.

So far, during our August trips, our rooms have been ready when we arrived around 1:00 pm. I don't know if it has anything to do with the resort knowing when we will get there or just luck.

We also like it because it is one more countdown we check off our list!

I always do online check in. I never put a credit card on file so that's not an issue. I email my room requests to MS. As others have said sometimes those requests are granted sometimes not so much. I'm happy pretty much anywhere so I'm not too fussy about whether I get my request or not.
