Online Check-In: Now Up and Running!

Just an FYI, it looks like the online resort check in is now live and running! It is located under "My Disney Vacation" page on DisneyWorld.com

"If you're within 10 days of your arrival for a Resort* reservation, you can start the check-in process online to simplify your arrival.

To begin check-in or make changes to check-in information you previously provided, enter your reservation confirmation number and the phone number you submitted when you made the reservation."

People on the resort boards are saying there will be a check-in desk in the lobby where all you have to do is stop by and pick up your KTTW card and info folder. Sounds like it could be interesting, but how do you know about room requests and things like that I would love to know if you can put in a request on the online check in.

If any of you are going soon, I would love to hear feedback on how this works!

Wanted to bump this to see if anyone who is there now did this. I can check in as of tomorrow and can't decide if I'm going to do it or not.

I really enjoy that initial interaction with the person at the front desk and don't want to miss out on that. That makes me feel like I'm at Disney!

I have to admit I actually love checking in! I think the whole process is so exciting! Waiting to check in and get your information and KTTW card and taking in the scenary in the lobby. I know it sounds crazy but its part of the experience but at the same time I am not against using technology to make check in faster. I guess we shall see how it goes!

Yeah I dont think I will use the online check in. The last time we went I met a guy from where I lived. He was on the College Program and we hadnt seen eachother in awhile. It was a small world that day. We ended up going eat one night and it was soo much fun. That would have NEVER happend with online check-in.

Talked it over with DH and he agrees no online check in for us. He said while we were checking in at WL last year he and our daughter had a nice time walking around the lobby checking things out. Of course, I'll have to remind him that when he goes wandering off he isn't there to sign the credit card approval form that needs his signature!

After reading up a little ore about this, it looks like you will still have to go to the front desk and check-in, but it just makes the process faster. It will ask about charging privileges and such online, but you will still have to pick up your documents and room keys from a special "online check-in" desk in the lobby. Doesn't sound like it is going to save any time at all

Oh well, we will have to see how the first few guinea pigs thought it worked out!
