How does this work?

I've never flown before, and I want to check in tomorrow 24 hours before we go. I've seen on the website, that you have to check in each person individually?

Then what happens when I get to the airport? (Buffalo)

Thanks in advance!

You enter one number and it brings everyone else up on the reservation. It then asks you if you want to check everone in. You check everyones name off....very easy!
We went to disney in April. Checked in 24 hours ahead..exactly 24 hours and were the 6,7,8 person on the plane. We picked great seats!

Sorry forgot, go on the website like 3min before put your info in. and start trying it. It won't take your info it will keep saying its before the time..but once that second rolls around and they activate it you'll be one of the first one in and youll have good chances at primo seats!!!!

Alright so, my flight is at 8:30 AM on Monday. So tomorrow I can begin checking us in at 8:30am?

And do I just continue through security?

or do i have to go to some sort of counter first?

If you have no bags to check, you can continue right to security with your boarding passes that you print out in advance. Although, come to think of it, if you go to the counter first they will tell you which gate you need to go to (I've always checked luggage at the counter or at the curb, very quick). And yes, you can check in online at 8:30 am the day before your flight. It will give you a letter and a number - SWA doesn't have seat assignments, they board by section - A is first, then B then C, and I think each section goes up to 60. As long as you're A or B, you'll have lots of seat choices. We fly SWA all the time and love them.
Have a safe trip and enjoy your vacation!

The only thing this does it kinda pre-check you in and you print your boarding passes. You still go to the southwest counter when you get there. You can self-check in. you just go to the little computer screen at the desk and check-in. Then give your luggage...and away you go!
I went on at 7:28 and entered my number. I knew when I hit enter it was gong to say it was before the 24 hour mark. but there's lots of people waiting to check in at the 24 hour mark. So just keep entering your number , Southwest time seems to be a bit off from the rest of the world...lol..so keep trying to check in. then it will surprise you and bring up the screen saying you can check in now! Good luck! I made sure to print 2 copies of the boarding passes just in case....The hotel can print your passes for you at the 24 hour mark for your trip home. But you have to be there for them to do it!
Have fun at disney!

We flew out of buffalo for the first time in april...boy was it so much nicer than Toronto! Wish we'd never have to fly out of Toronto again!

Thanks guys!

I'll have to get up early tomorrow to be on the computer by 8:20 :)

We have 3 bags to check, and then our 3 carryons/ 3 purses.

It was so easy. I dread flying out of Toronto now....just beware you have to take your shoes off going through security! Just put the in the bucket like you do the rest of your stuff. It is much nicer not having to deal with customs and stuff at the airport.

Yeah. Id rather have a border guard asking me a few questions, than an entire security check. Plus, the guards can see what we're doing, we have 3 suitcases in the trunk. :)

My shoes? Sheesh. Alright, I'll wear my croc-style sketchers then. Easy to get on and off.

they never asked us anything just said have a nice trip!
ORlando airport was wierd, on the way home cause you walk in your terminal and there is the check in counter and these huge xray machines for your luggage smack dab there in the middle of thing! You carry your luggage over to the security screeners! Then wait in the LONG line to go through security. I think it took us about an hour and 15min to get through security on the way back!!!
Best of luck on your trip! Have fun!

Look at that. I'm up a half hour before the check in!

I'll let you guys know when I check in.

Ah very well thankyou!!

I got The A one?? Is the number beneath the order we go in? I think we are in the 20's for the first flight. Then in the layover, we are in the 40's.

You did well ;) The first 20 seats are for people that pay business class(the highest of all 3) so if there are no or few Business you will be fine.

40's still good too, actually anything A is good for choice seating, even B's get decent seat but just not front rows.
Have a magical trip :wizard:
