Online check-in for Allegiant?

Can you pick your seat assignments when you check-in online at the 24 hour mark with Allegiant or do you have to wait until you get to the airport to get your seating?
I may want to pay for assigned seating for at least myself and my 7yo DD as she will not want to sit by anyone but Mom or Dad. I will be checking in online at the 24 hour mark but if you can't lock in your seating at that time, I'm not sure I can risk it.
Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

I hope I'm understanding your situation correctly. We've used Allegient for 10+ years and I always do the online reservations as soon as the dates come up.
The seats I book over the web are locked in during the session. There is no question as to what seat assignment we have. For example, our flights to/from WDW in July, I can tell you exactly what seat we each have coming and going. We couldn't do anything at 24 hour pre-flight because the flights out of our Regional airport are FULL. Go into the website and punch in your dates. It will show you how the plane is filling up and what is left. Of course, there can always be last minute cancels or no-shows so that may be where the 24 hour window would be useful and a few seats open up...may not be together though.

From the Allegiant website

" Only passengers with seats pre-selected may use Online Check-In.

Passengers may check in online from 24 hours to 1 hour before their scheduled departure time. Passengers with baggage to check may check-in online and then proceed to the Baggage Check counter when they arrive at the airport. Please note that all baggage must be checked-in at least 1 hour prior to departure. "
and "Does Allegiant have seat assignments?
In the past, all seat assignments were made by the airport on the day of departure. Recently, the option was made possible to arrange seat assignments in advance to anyone who wanted to purchase them. Those passengers that do not wish to pay for seat assignments will still have their seats assigned by the airport ticket agents on the day of flight. The airport ticket agents will, as they have in the past, try their best to keep families together. However, the best way to ensure that passengers who wish to sit together will be able to sit together is to pre-purchase a seat assignment. Allegiant does not overbook its flights; therefore every passenger is guaranteed a seat. Pre-purchase seat assignments are available from $11 per passenger, per segment. "

If you have not pd. for pre-selected seats then you will have to wait till you get to the ticket counter before you get your seat assignment. Without pre selected seats you will not even be able to check in online.

Thanks for the help with this. I missed the part about not even being able to do on-line check-in unless you had paid for your seat assignment. I guess I'll have to talk it over with DH and we'll have to decide whether or not to pay ahead for DD & I or hope the airport folks keep us together.

Don't expect passengers who paid for a seat assignment to give up their seat to keep you together.

All too often that is the case; but if I paid for a certain seat and you didn't - sorry, but I am staying put.

We recently flew with Allegiant & the above is correct - you cannot even do online check-in in advance if you don't have prepaid seat assignments. You MUST go to the counter for check-in if you don't pre-pay for seats. We did not have pre-paid seats, it wasn't important for us to be seated together. We got there a full 2 hours ahead of time for check-in and there was already a long line for the flight. Many families were split up that didn't pay ahead for seats. I stongly encourage you to pre-pay the seats if you don't want to be split up from DD!

The earlier you check in at the airport the better chance you have of sitting together. We have always gotten seats together and never pay to pick our seats or for priority boarding.
