online check-in-can you walk me thru it?

Just wondering if anybody's used the online check-in option yet & your thoughts, mainly what are the advantages & steps once you get to the resort after you've checked in online. Does it help with regards to room/view requests, early check-in, etc.

I used my first online checkin 2 weeks ago at BWV, it was pretty simple. After registering online checkin, when we arrived to the hotel, i went to the Online checkin Line and gave them my name. The went to the back and the package with the room key, parking pass and all the stuff ready. Came back out and handed to me. That was it. My friend on the otherhand, at AKV, the line for the online checkin desk was long. Much longer than the regular checkin... prbly would have been quicker the regular way. But over all.. the good thing is, the whole package was ready before you arrive. So if you've been to the resort before... you can pretty much just take the package and walk your merry way. Otherwise, stick around and have them explain the resort a little to you.

We leave in just a couple weeks and I'm wondering about the online check in as well. Will it get us a better room or not make a difference? We are driving, so we're leaving the day before - are we even able to do the online check in?
