I am trying to book online so I can avoid an international phone call. I'm in the US. But each time I enter my credit card the submission fails. I get an error message stating that my credit card details are not correct. I even tried a different card. I am using a Visa.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I double checked the credit card number and the security code (the 3 digit code on the back).

You cannot book on a DLP site unless you have selected the correct country of origin. Booking offers and payment/cancellation rules may vary by country of origin, and credit card numbers are checked against addresses by the system.

the above linked thread gives a decent solution

Thanks, I figured it out. I was in the right country of origin. But both my credit card companies denied the charge because I had activity here at home on both of them in the last few days. Then all of the sudden a charge from Europe was trying to be processed. They flagged each one as fraud.

I only found out by trying to use one today to purchase trip insurance and had that denied. I'm all straight now, except that the booking engine is down right now. I'll try again tonight and it should go just fine.

Hi there,
we had the same problem both with mine (and Italian cc) and with my partner's (an English cc) when we tried to book from DLP - Italy.
Then we rang to the Italian Call Center for DLP and had no problem with the English CC even if we didnt say at the nice lady it was not an Italian one.
So i wonder if it could be not a matter of country but a problem they have booking online.
Good luck.

I had the same problem when paying my final balance over the phone from the UK. When I was told the card had been refused I had that momentary lurch in my stomach wondering why there was no money in the account. However, the woman on the phone reassured me that it was probably just because it was such a large sum of money, and that it goes via the USA or something which makes the bank suspicious.

The moment I put the phone down I had an automated call from my bank asking me to confirm my last three transactions and when I phoned Disney back the payment went through no problem.

So for anyone wishing to pay a large amount, either by phone or online, it is probably worth giving your card company a call first and letting them know of your intended transaction so that the release the money.

Just wanted to report back that I was able to book online today with no problem. So it really was due to the fact that my credit card company was very diligent in trying to prevent fraudulent use of my credit card.

Just like lily73 say, if you are going to book online, it is a good idea to call your bank and let them know, otherwise you may end up with a hold placed on your account.

I suppose it depends how much it costs too - there are five of us staying in 2 rooms in SL, peak season, so quite a lot of money for one transaction.
