Online Booking "Birthday Celebration"

First time cruiser with a question about the "celebration" option when booking online. I noticed there are a few celebration options when I am getting quotes for my cruise. What does this mean?

Has anyone has anyone choosen a birthday celebration? If so, what is it?

I think that when you select a "celebration", you are basically notifying them that there will be a special occasion going on while on board. I think that normally they will present you with a cake for dinner on the night of the special occasion.
I did the birthday one for the DH on our cruise, and I ended up being a little disappointed because they never did anything for him. His birthday was the first day, so I figured they would have done it then. We skipped dinner the 2nd night because I had a migraine, so when we went the last night, our asst. server mentioned it, but they never did anything for him. I was glad that I had bought the stateroom celebration for him, so he at least had that, and it did have a cake with it, too.

We told our server that we had a birthday in our group and they brought us a really good cake with a picture of the ship on a white chocolate swirl. It was enough to serve 8 small pieces which is more than enough with all the other food.

We told them after we had finished out meal and they still had time to get a cake to us. I don't suggest this but it is possible!!

We did this last cruise for my my friends daughter..basically it was a sign hanging over the bed..this other cardboard thing with streamy things hanging of the ceiling and a small cake. Really wasn't worth the money.
