Online booking @ 7 month window w/Trans.Points

I have my own 100 BCV Dec 17 points plus 140 SSR Sep 17 points from a transfer.
I will need all of these points plus borrow some of my BCV Dec 18 points for a May 2018 trip.

I want to setup the best advantage to booking online at the 7 month morning. Due to the transfer I do not currently see those 140 pts in my account so I'd have to call MS to book using those points. My thoughts were to book the first few nights of my trip @ BCV now using my BCV 11 month home resort advantage and book the remainder of my trip now @ SSR using the 11 month home resort advantage of my transferred points.

Realistically we are open as to where we'll stay but don't want to do a split stay so we will cancel/modify these reservations at the 7 month window. My questions is once I book a reservation with those transferred points, would they then show up in my account to "use" those points to book online @ the 7 month window? or will I still have to call MS?

Another issue is not knowing where we eventually end up finding availability, I don't want to borrow anymore of my 2018 BCV points for this prelim. reservation than I need to.

Hope this makes sense. Thoughts?

At seven months out for any time in May, you should find studios open at the following even if you have to call to use transfer points at 9: BWV pool/garden view, BLT lake view, Poly, AKV standard or savanna view (at least Kidani and possibly Jambo), BRV (CCV has no track history yet), SSR and OKW. You also have some chance at BCV and BLT theme park view.

The safety valve you mention -- booking what you can at BCV and SSR now (we are already at 10 months out) without borrowing any points yet -- is a good plan and in my view one should always take the safest route of booking what you can (without borrowing) at 11 months out to assure having a room, and then trying to switch at 7, even though it is likely unnecessary for the ones I mentioned above that should be open (which are actually usally open well beyond 7 months out in May).

Thanks drusba. We typically travel the end of May and/or early June and haven't had any trouble yet booking where we wanted. Just trying to play it safe.
