I have been reading your comments about online booking for ADRs. You have all been helpful. Since my ADR window opens tomorrow, I visited the website and practiced. I thought I had the hang of it but then read your messages about a ten day window opening and having to enter your reservation number. When I go to the website through www.waltdisneyworld.com, and then select Book and then dining. . . it seems like I am at the correct place. However, I don't see anyplace to enter my reservation number. If I attempt to book a reservation to see if it will prompt me to enter my ressie, it doesn't ask for a number. What am I doing wrong? How do I get to the place that asks for my reservation number. Thanks so much.

Do they only ask for your reservation number if you are doing this at 90 days out? I ask because I've been making ADR's over the last two weeks for a last minute trip scheduled in Setpember and all they've asked me for is my name, email and phone number while traveling.

The option to link to a resort reservation doesn't show up until you select "Book a Reservation" for a particular restaurant. After that, it appears that all of your dining reservations will be linked to that resort reservation unless you select "disassociate reservation".

I have just been experimenting (I'm not "due" until Aug 31), so if that doesn't help, maybe someone else can!

ETA: I "logged out", and my resort reservation association was still showing up when I clicked on "Book a Reservation" for dining.

If you are less than 90 days, they don't need your resort reservation. It is only needed so you can book 90 + 10 days before your trip (so you can book 90 days before the first day of your trip and book for each day of your trip, up to 10 days). Anyone can book less than 90 days out (ie, you don't need a resort reservation).

Thanks, Elmo888. This is helpful to know for next year's trip. Like I said, this one was a last minute and I usually have my TA make them, but I was so lucky with the online, that I went and did it myself.
