We have a large family (total of 7) which includes a 1 year old at time of trip... we have the free dining plan (which is only for the 6 of us as the 1 year old doesn't get it because of age). Do I still count her in our party size when making an ADR online or do I just count 6 since we won't be using any credits for her... but she still needs to have a place to sit/high chair.

Helppppp! Thanks!

My 18 month old is included in our count. I made our reservations online too. There is a place to put the child's age in the count, and they will know obviously if the child is under 3, there will not be any credits used.

7. Because as you said she needs to be accounted for to get you at the correct size table. There needs to be room for a high chair.

Include in the count as you need room for a highchair at the table.:surfweb: if you did them on line and it will not take just call them and have them change for you..is not a problem:thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!! I haven't made my ADRs yet but my 180 day count opens in a few hours so I'm ready to pounce! You guys are great!

You can do it with or without. If you book without there is a chance you will need to seat the toddler in your lap to keep your ADR. You can usually fit a high chair on the corner of a table anyways.

Afraid not. It's not just to make sure the table will accomodate a high chair. It's due to fire codes occupancy levels. Even tiny babies in arms, count toward the fire codes. Plus some of WDW restaraunts are so small and the tables are so close together that high chairs won't fit without blocking the aisle or encroaching on the next table (think Le Cellier or San Angel Inn).:rotfl:

Yes, the fire code count has to include the child. I just learned this myself when booking for our child, whom will only be 5 months old on our trip.

I was able to book all of the ADRs I wanted this morning counting all 7 of us with no problems. Yippee! I'd rather be safe than sorry!

You should always include the infant in the ADR. If you choose not to, that's up to you, but they should be included. As noted in the other posts, it's not entirely about where they will sit or whether they will be eating.

Yes, they count and good for you for asking. And I'm glad you got all of your reservations. Going from an even number to an odd number I've heard is harder. When we went last year my son was 10 months old. I went to my daughter's orientation and found out when fall break was and came right home and made all the ADRs I wanted-for 2, my daughter and me. I didn't include him for the same reasons you were thinking...he won't be having his own plate. Fall break was Thanksgiving week and I did very well to get what I got considering it was already August.

Well, guess who had to call the Disney Dining line daily trying to modify her reservations? Yes, and did I mention it was Thanksgiving week? Thankfully it all worked out. The only one I wasn't able to do ahead of time was Tusker House. They weren't full that morning, but all of the tables were occupied. We got in because all they had were tables for 4, so that is where we ended up sitting. So there was already room for my son.

Better to be safe than sorry is a good way to think about these things. My son changed quite a bit between when I made the reservations and when we went. I'm glad I didn't have to hold him or have to try to find another place to eat.
