Goodness gracious! I am so behind in reporting again...

DH and I have done some finalizing of the trip details, and some things have been booked and paid for, some have been booked and a deposit put down and others have just been reserved. As a result the tracking system was all thrown out of whack and then we were away for Easter so I couldn't get it all straightened out until today.

We will be driving down, stopping for 2 days in Washington DC for a little capitol city exploration, hitting Fort Lauderdale for the cruise and then spending two nights at the Yacht Club (thanks again queenofthehive!!) before driving back home. The DC hotel is booked and paid for, Yacht Club booked and a deposit put down, the Fort Lauderdale hotel for the night before the cruise booked and paid for and the travel hotels (up and down) reserved with payment to be made upon check in.

DS really wanted to spend a day at the parks (ideally he wanted a one day park hopper) but we've decided to just enjoy the pool and the boardwalk area and take it easy this time around. It's far too much money when you're only going for one day and our next trip is Hawaii so what we don't spend now can get rolled over for that trip instead.

Our vacation savings each month will cover the bulk of the associated costs, and the found money needs to cover gasoline, misc expenses and food.

I can't promise that more changes won't be made...DH and I are still weighing the excursion options...but I've got a working plan for now and we'll just see where that takes us!

two weeks ago a grabbed a VGT for the Fantasy for Mayt so am busy throwing a trip together...the ship gets in on a saturday and we don't fly out till the monday am, so we could do 1 day passes, but they are sooo expensive! especially with the dollar where it is!

I went back and forth about the tickets a few times...that UCCB lump sum we Ontarians are getting in July would cover our one day park tickets but I'd much rather put that money towards Hawaii instead and DS agreed. He's only 10 but he is crazy frugal and really careful about how and when he spends his money.

After we do Hawaii, I can start planning another Disney trip and then we can park it up! We are doing a couple of TS meals this time as a sort of compensation for no parks, Yachtsman Steakhouse (our first signature!!) and Trattoria al Forno. DS is looking forward to those. The steakhouse is pricey but we are surprising my foodie hubby with it since he's such a good sport with all this Disney stuff! DS is so excited about that...it was his idea to surprise his Dad, even though there's not much on the menu that appeals to him. Poor kid! He's planning on sharing an entree with me...eating the fries, perhaps a bite or two of steak (not much of a meat eater, that kid) and then raiding the bread basket. As long as he gets fries and bread...he won't go hungry! LOL

Thanks! every time I've priced DCL it has just been soo much more. Hopefully it doesn't blow us out of the water too bad! I actually want to try the new NCL ship next- it looks great too!. Hawaii is awesome! Do you know which island you are thinking of? We have been to the Big Island twice- amazing! Right now I am thinking that on the Sat, we might do the DVC tour - I read that they give you a $100 GC, which we could use towards 1 day tickets...we'll see. We are staying offsite (I know!) but a friend of mine manages the local Hampton and has got us great prices on our various rooms. Good times!
