Expect a lot of hot weather, lol !! Wear light colored clothes, lots of sunscreen and don't rush through the parks. Maybe come back to the campground for a few hours in the afternoon to cool off and chill. The pools aren't fancy, but they are still nice for cooling off
You will love FW...it is nice and shady and there is lots to do right there at the campground. You can rent boats, kayaks and of course a golf cart. Your kids are a little older, but they may enjoy the nightly campfire and movie.
We used the DDP last time we went and will again in December. Although your choices are more limited at FW, Wilderness Lodge is right next door and they have Roaring Forks for counter service. You can also get snacks from the Trading Posts and snack shop near the Meadows pool. Trail's End is available for table service meals.
Yes............. ADR's for all nights
Thanks,
last time at Disney (Feb 07 off sight) we only had 2 days so rushed through. With 10 days we want to take our time and see as much as possible...no rushing I am on holiday. A busy HOT day at Disney is better than a quiet cool day at WORK!!!
Expect it to hot every day and plan on a shower (rain) every day and last, we will be checking in on Aug. 1st for 10 days so maybe you'll get to see us
I will also be at the Fort for 10 days starting July 27. Look for me I will have my sign in the widow and my Mickey Lamp with a green bulb. I am trying for loop 600 we liked it the last time but you never know for sure.

We'll be there the same time, tent camping (with AC). Trying for the 1100 loop first choice, 1500 2nd and 2000 3rd. Can't wait to get there, 1975ish was the last time I was there, first trip for the wife and the house monkey's!
My oldest is 15 and really liked the pool parties and dodge ball. There is soccer and football too.Check the activities calendar that they give you at check-in. We did these on our afternoon breaks. We either went to the park at opening and then back to the fort at noon for pool activities or went to the park late especially for evening extra magic hours. This helped a lot with the heat.
Have fun!

The activities worked out well for us too. During the afternoon, dd2 and dd3 would nap. Either myself or dh would take dd9 to the activities. She really enjoyed them.
