Well I have read all the threads on here more than once.:rotfl:

We leave Monday the 30th for our 6 day trip. This will be our first trip to dl, we will be celebrating our 10year anniversary, and also my 39th bday. We are dvc members and are wdw experts, lol. So the whole dl planning or lack there of has been totally new to me. It will be myself, my wife and our Dd6. We arrive at lax at 1140 am and I have the Disney resort express reserved already, and staying at the tropicana inn. It doesn't get much love on here but most reviews have been very good except for the weak free breakfast. But I know that going in, so it will not be a disappointment for us. Then we leave sat at 440pm so I am sure we will have a shuttle pick up about 130. We are flying virgin America, a first for us but excited as the plane looks cool and the rate we to was awesome.

So as I sit here a week away, we have done some shopping for some necessities that we needed, pulled out the suitcases. I purchased ride max, and hope after I get familiar with the park it will be useful. Our 6 day hoppers purchased per price increase. Have the photopass plus. We only have one dinner or meal planned. That is our anniversary dinner for Friday at 530. I will arrive a bit early and ask for waterside table and will be willing to wait longer if needed.

I feel as I am as prepared as I can be, it's just the unfamiliarity to the parks that stands out the most to me. I have been going to wdw my entire life so I know the parks like the back of my hand, know what we like and what we don't, which makes planning easier. As far as our dl planning, I don't really have one we are going to head over to the parks after we check in so I am thinking by 3 we should be in parks. Just going to leisurely explore the parks to familiarize ourselves with the layout. So that should make the rest of the planning a bit easier. We get one MM not sure what day o use yet. Our daughter is feeling adventurous and tells us she wants to do towner of terror and California screaming. Hopefully she will, but should be exciting either way.

Well sorry if some of you find this a useless post, it's just hat I have read everything so this filled my disney fix for now. If anyone as any suggestions please feel free to post away. Thanks for reading

Sounds like you are ready! Don't forget to relax and stop to smell the roses. :thumbsup2. I am sure you will have a great time at the original park!

I will be there starting Sunday for a shorter trip, so I am starting to get my stuff together as well, although I am just driving. I am looking forward to seeing Carsland and BVS! :cool1:

Thanks, oh there will be plenty of smelling he roses and taking it all in. We are looking forward to comparing the differences between wdw and dl. I hope you enjoy your trip as well.

Well, you have a nice long trip so you should have no problems seeing everything you want to. :)

Are you going to make your Ridemax plans prior to leaving or once you are in the parks?

I have tried making hem prior and it's just hard to judge how much we can get done in one day. I have been messing with it but it's hard since the park is an unknown to me. So my thought was to use that arrival day in the park to get a feel of the park, so I can plan better. ( at least that is my theory)

Gotcha, I imagine it will feel weird to see familiar things in unfamiliar places! :rotfl:

DL is much more compact than WDW from what I understand, so the good news is less walking! You will be amazed at how much they can squeeze into one park.

So will you be using the mobile version of Ridemax to create plans? I like it because I don't have to carry around a piece of paper and can change things around. But I do mess around with the desktop version to get a feel for how busy things might be and what the basic strategy will be.

Yeah the mobile/ online version I prefer that one same reasons as you and the ability to save plans
