Ok, I have always booked roundtrip tickets !!! But Southwest has a great deal AND PERFECT times for our trip to Orlando. It comes out to about $100 a piece for a NONSTOP! (Which is also huge all the way from Denver) Putting us in Orlando at about 1pm!!

The trip back is a bit more and the times are not so great so I thought I would shop around for that a little longer I just have always booked everything at once, does anyone else do this? Or has anyone done this? Is it risky to not book both at once? Or am I just being ridiculous? AAAAA HELP!!!!

I ALWAYS book Southwest as one-ways. That way if DIng or sale rates come out for one leg but not the other I don't need to worry about losing the rate on the non-discounted fare.

You do know that if your fare goes even lower on SW that you can cancel your original ressie and rebook at the lower fare. You receive a credit for the difference. You did know that - right ;)

When we went in January it was cheaper to fly SWA down and Delta back. So that's what we did. Was just as easy as flying roundtrip. My SWa tickets never dropped but it would have allowed me to change to a cheaper ticket having the one ways.

It depends on when you are going. However, I saw ding rates from Denver to Orlando for $44 each way several times this year. I usually keep checking to see the lowest price.

That's what we are doing. I have already bought my airline tickets for our trip to Orlando at $97 per person on Delta. The return flight was about $200 per person , so I'm holding out for a better rate , even if I have to book with two different airlines. Since 5 of us are going and I'm paying for it all, I need every savings I can get.:rotfl:

Yep - that's what I do with Southwest as well. Their policy is so generous for rebooking that it just makes sense to book separately in case one fare drops. And other than keeping track of an extra confirmation number, there isn't really any more "work" involved.

We booked one way tickets our last trip when they were running $49 a person from Birmingham. We kept watching for the lowest rates for the return trip and ended up paying $109 each. Figured that was a pretty good deal. I'd say if you have enough time before your trip to watch for ding fares and sales, go ahead and book one way.

Just remember it can also bite you in the butt. Fares can also go up rather than down, and you could wind up paying more for your return if fares jump. It's definatly a game of Rusian roulette!

Nevermind, found the "ding" website.
