one way vans...

I am thinking about transporting guests via one way vans. I called Mears and they said it would be $25 and to talk to my wedding planner. I spoke to my planner and she said $40. Does anyone know why there is a difference in price? Do I have to go through my planner or can I book on my own?

I think you need to make sure your planner knows what you are asking for. My BEO states that our one-way vans are $25/each. So, either your planner doesn't know what you are asking or there is an unknown price hike?

Here is what I know about using outside transportation. You are welcome to use any transportation (non-live animals, so no outside carriages) that you want to use. However, those vehicles will not be allowed to go backstage and you are not allowed to walk through the park in your dress. So, if your ceremony/reception is in a park, the outside transportation would have to drop you off in a public place and then you will have to hike around backstage (if it's even possible) to get to your ceremony/reception. It's something you might want/need to discuss with your planner.

It seems odd to me that the price would double so quickly, but then again.. This is Disney.

Make sure you specify how many passengers you are looking to fit each van. That may be the point of confusion.

I spoke with Mears. Pricing varies according to locations. For example, it may be more expensive to travel from the Wedding Pavilion to Epcot than from the WP to the Animal Kingdom.

Did you ever find out if it is 25 or 50? Also, how many people fit in the vans?

1) Luxury Vans = 8 passenger
2) Taxi Vans = 7 passenger
3) Shuttle Vans = 11 passenger
4) Limos = 4 & 8 passenger

I called mears and I booked 3 vans each holds 8 people for $23 a van. My planner said to book on my own through mears since it was a cheaper price. The planner stated that as of June 1st prices went up to $40 for a one way van through them.
