One way drop off fee

We are looking at renting through Alamo or National and picking up MCO and dropping off at the Disney Car Care Centre. Can we expect a one way drop off fee?

Renting within the state of Florida most do not charge a drop off fee. You can check and find out by going online and booking a vehicle.

Thanks. I have made a tentative booking with National. But I can't find a reference to a one way fee. I figured there wouldn't be. The depots are relatively close to each other.

We booked through thrifty and they are charging us a drop fee of $17. This is between the airport and cape canaveral.

I would ask. I was going to rent a car and pickup at the car care center and drop off at Dolphin. It was much more expensive than dropping back at car care center.

Yes, even 3 years ago Thrifty was changing a drop off fee from Port Canaveral to Orlando Airport. We still used them because their mini-van price was better than Avis or Budget even with the fee.

Most rental car companies in Florida do not charge drop (one-way) fees. If anything, it's built into the rate quoted to you, The rate for a one-way rental may be a bit more than the rate returning it to the renting location. When I've rented with Alamo/National in Florida that has been the case. Any company charging a one-way fee will clearly display the charge within its rate quote.

We are renting from National and picking up at the Dolphin and dropping off at MCO. The rate was $20 more than picking up and dropping off at MCO.
It is well worth it to us as we will be driving from the BCV's to Vero Beach for a week. I was going to take ME back to MCO on our BCV checkout day to pick up the car. This is $20 well spent in my mind!!!

Thanks everyone. I guess if there is one its either built in or be minimal anyway. The rate I have booked is really good. In fact I'm wondering if it might be too good to be true. I might start a separate post about that though.

Picking up and dropping off at the airport usually gives the best rate. While there is no drop off fee, the one way rate will most likely be a bit higher but definitely worth the convenience. Make sure the Disney Car Care Center is listed as the drop off location to get a correct quote.
