One way car rental

Anybody have any advice on renting a car in the US (Michigan most likely) to drive to Florida, keep it while we are there, returning at the airport 13 days later and flying home? We have the weekend before we check in to our resort on Monday, March 9th so my husband would like to drive, just once. I really don't want to drive home, because we would have to cut 2 days off of our trip to return home. Anybody ever done this without paying the same amount as flights? TIA

Yes! I live in Michigan and am always renting cars locally for trips. I've found that using Enterprise or going through Orbitz or the like helps. If you can manage an economy car, you really wont fill up much between Michigan and Florida. The drive is really nice.
