One time use points-probably out of luck?

Looking at upgrading to a 2 bedroom but would be short 28 points. I know I can buy 24-are there any scenarios where I’d be able to buy another 4- or am I totally out of luck here?

Out of luck. They will not sell more than 24.

Assuming you have no points that you can borrow, your only other options would be to seek a transfer from another member, or rent a 1 or 2 night reservation from another member.

I’ve done this before. You can use the rental board to get a member to rent you a 1-2 night stay, then call DVC afterwards to have the reservations “linked” so you don’t have to change rooms. They won’t merge the reservations since it’s different memberships, but they will link them, and I’ver never had to move rooms in that scenario.
