If I understand correctly, we can buy 24 OTU points per contract per use year. Can you purchase those points when banking or borrowing? For example, say I have 2 contracts with 100 points each and a March use year. If I want to book a trip in March 2026, using banked points from 2025, the regular March 2026 points, and borrowed March 2027 points, from both contracts, can I purchase 6 sets of 24 OTUs for this trip? Or can I only purchase OTUs for the use year I’m booking in (March 2026, so 48 OTUs total, 24 from each contract)? Hope that makes sense!

You will only ever be able to use 24 OTUP on a single reservation. You can only purchase 24 in a use year per membership, and they cannot be banked, borrowed, or transferred.

I believe members are able to buy 2 sets of OTUPs if you have multiple use years or multiple memberships, but even then you would have to use them on 2 separate reservations. One from each membership. If both of your contracts show up under the same membership, then you will 100% be limited to 1 set of 24 OTUPs

OTU points are per membership not per contract.
If the contracts you are talking about are in the same membership your max is 24 in a use year, if the contracts are in different memberships (have different use years or are titled differently) you can buy up to 24 OTUs per membership per use year to complete a 7 month reservation, AFAIK you can buy them to complete a reservation you are currently making, but cannot buy them for a reservation you intend to make later.
I’ve not purchased OTU under the new member’s extra program, so don’t know if that works differently, though.

You can purchase and use one-time use points for a Disney Collection or World Collection trip in the following year if the booking window for that trip has opened, but you are still limited to a maximum of 24 one-time points per use year. I would interpret that as a maximum of 24 OTU points per reservation.

It's 24 OTUP per membership/UY. You purchase it when you go to book the reservation at the 7 month window. What I do is I book the beginning online to get the room, then call to add the OTUP. The MS agent will look to see if you have the MMB, then allow you to buy 12 points and then they will add 12 more points to your membership. These will be loaded into the UY that the reservation falls in and will expire at the end of the UY. You cannot bank or borrow OTUP.

The 24 OTUPs per use year rule applies singularly to all contracts in the same membership, not per contract. And if you have only one membership, you can get only 24 points per use year, and it is the use year in which the trip occurs that determines that issue, not whether regular points have been banked or borrowed.

If you have two contracts, 100 points each, with the same March use year, that likely means they are both in the same membership -- if you had contracts with different starting months, such as one in March and one in June, that would mean they are in separate memberships and thus the 24-point limit applies separately to each membership.

Thus, for any trip that is reserved for time during your March 2026 use year, you will be able to purchase no more than 24 OTUPs regardless of how many points you use that are banked or borrowed.

For further clarification for myself, I have related questions. I'll buy MMB next year and I have a June use year. I want the otup for my 2026 use year. It's my understanding that I should wait until June to purchase? And it needs to be purchased to go into a reservation, but I can cancel the reservation and use those points for a future booking. Can those be banked to my 2027 use year?

You don't have to wait until June to buy the OTUP. You need to wait until you can book a reservation in your 2026 UY, then you cancel and use those points in a future booking. If you are going to use MMB 2026 benefits, you would have to wait until Jan to buy the MMB and the OTUP. However those OTUP can't be banked into the 2027 UY.
