One time points question?

If I purchase one time points to make a reservation then waitlist for a property that requires less points what happens to those points if the waitlist comes through?

I'm are only talking 2 points so it wouldn't be the end of the world if lost but just wondering if I would have the 2 points left to use or bank.

I know they can not be banked.

Not sure about using them in another way within the UY.

They should use the OTU points and then leave the balance of your points to bank if eligible to. Otherwise OTU points cannot be banked nor borrowed and would expire.

When this happened to me they used the one time use points first.
