Anyone notice how rainy this late May and June have been?

We go every year this time and have never encountered this much rain. We were in our ponchos more than we were out of them when we were there (may 30-June8th).

Even the CMs were saying it was unusual to have that much rain (constant).

We still had fun.. we just put our ponchos on and kept going. We weren't going to let a lil liquid pixie dust but a "damper" :rotfl: on our trip.

Hi Jennifer,

You're absolutely right...average rainfall for the month of June in Orlando is 7.35 inches, but as of yesterday (19th) 11.3 inches had already fallen in June! That's more than 50% above average, with 11 days still left in the month!

In fact, since the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (May 29), there have been only three days with no measurable rainfall!

I was there then as well. Yup, talked to a CM who said they are used to the every afternoon thundershowers, but not the week of straight rain. Thinking back, the rain was better 'cause when the sun came out 6/7, 8, and 9th, it was very, very hot.

We arrived on the 8th and got the tail end of the rainy weather. After the first 2 days, it cleared up beautifully :sunny: . It was much better than last year at the same time when it rained for hours every day :umbrella: . We got lucky this time. I'm sorry it rained so much for you, but glad you had a great time regardless.

We encountered the rain too but the trade off wasn't too bad considering it kept the temperatures down a bit. The days when it didn't rain we were thinking a bit of a shower would have been a good thing! We had a great time though and hope everyone else did too!

Yeah we were there too(June7-13) I couldnt believe how much rain came down some days. But I loved the rainy days compared to the 7th, 8th and 12th....those days were HOT lol, I guess thats what I get for going in June.

it has been ridiculous...

i live in miami, and we have been getting tons and tons of rain here too... my brother in law, who lives in orlando says they've been getting hit the same. part of it has to do with hurricane season...

we have already had 2 tropical storm/depressions develop. thank goodness that none of those came our way, but we did get some extra rain because of them. :umbrella:

i really don't like this time of year for us... :sad2:

We just moved to Orlando in January and I keep questioning the nickname, The "Sunshine State"!!! Oh well, I wouldn't want it any other way!!

We moved to Tampa last August and have been saying that just about every day!

I don't mind rain, just not all day long, day in & day out (which happened a couple weeks ago, for about a week. I thought I was going to go insane!) This weather has been extremely unusual, according to many people I've spoken to about it. Because of that, my parents have deemed it our fault, since none of it started until we moved to this state (oh, and btw, the 4 hurricanes were our fault as well, just so everyone knows.) :rotfl:

We went in late June of 2002 - 10 days - rained every day for at least a few hours and one day for 10 hours. The rainy day was spent in EPCOT - then we headed to DTD for a movie and dinner. Still a nice day - even though a bit wet. :o

We were there at the same time! Rained on us every single day.

I was grateful for the rain. Most of the time it was just enough to keep us cool without totally soaking us. Now sometimes it was totally downpouring!!! But with the little ones, I don't think we could have gotten nearly as much done as we did if it had been sunny and hot. When you look at our 3 hot days, the 7th, 8th and the 12th to our other rainy days, there's no comparison when looking at all the things we did.

I just got back on Saturday from a week at WDW. It rained only once that I can remember and it POURED when it did. I guess we were pretty lucky then!
